Hello Last year I bought a 1964 Galaxie 500. We wanted to rebuild the engine and for that, we took it out. The car had originally a 289 V8 but later somebody put a FE390 in it. They told me, it is a 1964 Engine - but I am not sure if I can trust the vendor. Together with the engine, they swapped the transmission. Originally it had a standard manual - at least the trim tag says so. Now it is a 3-Speed A/T. Now I am wondering, which one it is. First I thougt, it would be a C6 but the oil pan ist rectangular. So I need some help to identify the tranny. Sadly this is the only picture I can take at the moment, 'cause the car hoist is occupied. The dust Cover says C5AP-79986-E. The bellhousing is painted black. Is it possible to identify the transmission by the bellhousing? Thanks for your help. Yannick
