  1. I would be interested in the 16v turbocharger, maybe the axles too .
  2. Did the car overheat? You going to have to take the head off and see what it looks like. I have seem aluminum heads that corrosion is causing the leaks. How is the turbocharger? You could do a compression test and see how the rings, valves and head are holding up. That was a very common engine, I don't see you having a lot of trouble getting parts. Rock Auto. Parts Geek, basically a place where there is a machine shop.
  3. Same thing happened to my 16V, make sure you secure it with zip ties or some kind of clamps. I also added some length to the vacuum lines, to keep it further away from the exhaust.
  4. Here is a picture from the workshop manual. What size is the bolt head?
  5. I can't open your hmt file, tried on two different computers. Have a picture of it in the workshop manual. what top of the top frame or attachment point is it? I had 1 of them made for me by a friend with a lathe.
  6. The car was gone on Friday afternoon, so it's crushed by now.
  7. Was thinking about taking the pump and accumulator out of the car. Car looked to be in very good condition.
  8. Correct. Left front damage to the headlight and the fender. Sad reason to total the car. The Gools were at it too.
  9. I know how some of you feel about the system. Do you think it is a good idea to get a functioning one out of a car in a junkyard? Thinking mainly of the pump and accumulator
  10. I know how some of you feel about the system. Do you think it is a good idea to get a functioning one out of a car in a junkyard?
  11. There is an all black 91 TC at the Ontario, Ca Pick-a-Part It's not on the computer, but it's in the back with the Chrysler's.
  12. The axles are the same on both sides, or equal. Do not give your axles up until you know the other ones fit. Count the splines, and the teeth on the tone rings.
  13. I believe that's a Chrysler part, you should be able to find in any junkyard. Here's a link to a guy stripping a car in the So Calif area. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5304439639.html
  14. Here is a link, about reconditioning your Maserati's leather. http://thecarnut.com/Manuals/Leather_Restoration.pdf
  15. Which engine and what state? The flow chart should be on drivers side in the engine compartment on the wiper motor covers. I have both charts.
  16. The power steering lines were chaffing and leaking, they need to be replaced. Which PS pump is on this car? I have an 8 valve parts car, and the lines are different. The pressure line does not match the pictures in the catalogs. Any thoughts? Thanks Philip
  17. So where does one find the parts that wear out, and need replacement, the car is 25 yrs old. I am thinking about things that are not easily made. Like hoses, distributor cap rotor, ignition wires, valve cover gasket, and some of the fuel injection components. It seems when I look for parts for that engine, 90% of the time they are wrong or unavailable. How about the water pump, is it the same as the 8 valve? Does the timing belt change, from the early build engine to the later build? I know some of the head components change like the valve lash pucks. Is the engine serial number a good way to figure which engine build it has? Chrysler said, the valve lash pucks change at serial # 01083, but they have been wrong about many things with regards to this car. I was also looking for some input on how to get more hp out of the engine, without spending a ridiculous amount of money? I did find a place called Parts Geek, that has some parts listed for the 16 valve car.
  18. Where do you live? Did you check the system with dye, so you know it's not the o-rings? The high pressure side of the system is more likely to leak. Parker Hoses has places all across the country. www.parkerhose.com Aircraft shops make hoses for planes all the time, they will have the tools and expertise, to do the job. The same goes for a large auto air conditioning shop.
  19. Every time I try to get parts for the DOHC car, I run into road blocks. I would like to know from the people who have worked on these cars, how you keep them running. I looked through the old postings for the 16 valve engine, many of them are years old. What options are available now, for normal maintenance parts . I am afraid to go on a long trip with this car for fear of getting somewhere. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  20. I not exactly sure what your asking. You need a manifold for R-134a, it has Acme fittings and they are a different size than the R-12 manifold. As far as the retrofit kits go, you have to get the correct one for the car you have, there is a kit available with all the adapter fittings included. Remember to pull a good vacuum to see the condition of the system. Here's a web site with good information, they will also answer questions by phone. www.idqusa.com
  21. The left door lock has the code on the lock, you need to take the lock out of the door to read it, a key can be cut from the code. The trunk key, take take one of the locks to a locksmith. Now if you have the owners manual, or any of the paper work that came with the car when sold new, you are looking for a little metal tag with the key numbers on it, also many salesmen write the key numbers down in the owners manual or in the original paperwork. Good Luck
  22. I picked up a Spectra Premium tank to replace the rusted one in my car. The correct fuel pump would not fit in the port, and line up with the tray. Has anyone else had this problem, or is this one reject tank? Has anyone else had good luck with other tank manufacturers, which ones? The fuel pump and tank are 2 parts very common to many Chrysler cars. Thanks Philip
  23. Did you have a problem with the bearings, is it broken bolts? Why do you think you need to replace the spindle?
  24. I have dealt with this problem before in other machines, but I would like to know from the group, what methods work best for these cars? Is this tank in any other Chrysler's? Thanks Philip
