1932 Lincoln KA 505 $35,000
Ed Luddy replied to John Bloom's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
As I have no dog in this race I'm not sure what the price is, high, average or low? Looking at the ad and trying to total up the cost to get it to this level makes it look about $35-40 % cost of resto. That's if you do a lot of the labour yourself. A turn key pre-war Lincoln this handsome for under $30k? I know it has needs but for a driver to go on a pre-war tour in style what is the right number? Skip the judging class and nit picking using as a big comfortable driver price. -
1969 Dodge Charger R/T 426 4 speed. B5 blue, white rump stripe white interior, power windows, ralley dash, etc. Bought it 1975 or 76 (foggy 70's lifestyle) It didn't have the original 426 Hemi, plenty of rust (Canadian car from new), big dent in drivers door, bad exhaust, worse brakes and steering. Had to keep it off the road when the safety check lanes opened for the summer 2 week blitz. Sold it to a friend as I couldn't afford to fix it. He got T-Boned and it was wrote off and scrapped. I've lost all the photo's of it but a Mopar sleuth did do a bunch of research on it years ago. The dealer I bought it from contacted me 20 years later wanting to buy it back when he realized how much they were climbing in price.

Here's my plan for it after I buy it for $2600. Go buy a mid 80's Jaguar V12 VDP sedan for $5000. Strip out the Packard engine and interior, retro fit the Jag power train and seats. Replace the wood in doors with metal. Rough sand the body and brush/roller paint with dark gray Tremclad rust paint. Should only take 2 years and 1500 man hours to make it a classy rat!

Yes. RS split bumper is the way to go for most 70-73 Camaro fanatic's. -
"Not Mine" for high rollers only?
Ed Luddy replied to 7th Son's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Blame it on the internet. A layer of anonymity coupled with no cost or low cost ads. Then add the most human aspect=greed. Yes a large majority of old cars are far overpriced. Top that off with Classic Car Auctions with over hyped cars, semi drunk rich guys trying to be the big shot and a few chandelier bidders and you end up where we are today. Everybody thinks their Mop N' Glo beater is Mecum or B-J quality. -
'55 Crown Vic $5,000 North Hampton, PA

This one has a few custom touch's. 1960 Dodge Pioneer tail lights and T-Bird or Galaxie XL seats with tuck and roll door panels. I like it. -
1947 Packard clipper - $30,000

I know nothing about the Packard market, but it's seems to be high priced. Great looking car that I could never afford to restore. -
They were sold thru Pontiac dealerships. Originally called Acadian Beaumont's starting in 1962. The Acadian was a Nova dressed up as a Pontiac product. In 1962 the Beaumont was the top of the line trim option on the Acadian. In 1964 Beaumont Acadian became it's own model based on the Chevelle platform. But although it was not Pontiac badged or named, it was a GM Pontiac of Canada product sold at Pontiac/Buick/GMC franchises.

Ok, when new this would have been equipped with inline 6 cylinder 194 or 230 c.i. If it was a V8 from factory it would be a 283 or rarely a 327. No 350's as they a newer version of the SBC. The SD stands for Sport Deluxe in Beaumont-speak. Equal to SS in Chevy-speak. This is a nice looking car, has been for sale for a long time. So it's over priced??

Fender tag as well. No pic's of it. Not sure if it's a real factory Hemi car but definitely over restored. The full gloss painted chassis and inner front fenders sprayed in "Bedliner Black" aren't my style but it's far out of my financial reach, so nitpicking only makes me look petty! I know someone who could easily verify that car as he's a Canadian Mopar guru. Quebec had a lot of big horsepower Mopar's sold there in the 60's and 70's. I helped bring a few to Ontario many years ago.

Cool engines in a pretty crappy car that was far overpriced. These were almost in the Corvette price range when new and started having rust holes thru the tops of the front fenders after the 1st year.
