  2. ^^^THIS^^^ the air cleaner is also a flame arrestor When you're having issue with timing, a flaming back fire should be expected. You don't need to add an engine fire to your troubles
  3. What's the reducer going to for you? the windshield wiper voltage reducer will reduce the voltage from 12v to 6v for the windshield wipers' vacuum motor ......(?)
  4. VERY NICE !!! You're right, automotivally seven years is BIG difference 1930-1937 Not such a big difference 2010 - 2017 and, side mounts wouldn't look as good on the Austin Healy.......

  6. I've had two DELCO repro batteries for my Buick. The repros are junk, and cost twice as much as good batteries
  7. Well, just now , the man very humbly apologized for making the claim of numbers matching. He explained that it is what the previous owner told him. Caveat Emptor.
  8. have you tried working all the switches? Or just the driver's master switches? It could be the circuit breaker on the fuse block. The circuit breaker can be identified on the fuse block easily. It's a rectangular block of metal on the fuse block. It plugs in the same as the glass fuses. But the rectangular block protrudes from the fuse block

  10. I love the grill on the '50 Buick. That's the best looking grill on any car ever.
  11. What I noticed first about driving the '36 Packard was , how light the steering is. Standing still , the wheel can be turned with one finger. As easy as if it does have power steering (it does not have power steering , nor sidemounts, and that maybe your point, it doesn't need either...

  13. It wasn't ebay, the car is not for sale. I didn't walk away. I asked him which numbers matched, after telling him that VIN , engine and trans numbers didn't match in 1955. He corrected me , by restating that his did match. I thanked him for teaching me something I didn't know previously. Since then , another '55 Buick owner joined the thread and asked him to tell where thise numbers could be found that matched . So far , there hasn't been a reply to let us know where and what mumbers match.
  14. I told the guy that VIN , Engine and Trans numbers didn't match before 1958. He dismissivly said that his numbers matching claim wasn't directed towards me, but to someone else in the thread. (From which , I inferred that I should mind my own business) And that his Engine and Trans numbers DID match. I thanked him for teaching me something about Buicks that I didn't know.
  15. Well, it's on an internet forum (not this forum) To be sure I understood what he said, I asked; "Numbers matching? On a '55 Buick?" he replied "Yes sir". And, as you suggested, I asked him which numbers matched. And pointed out that engine, trans, and VIN numbersdidn't match before 1958. i haven't seen a reply , yet.
  16. I have a friend that traded his 1936 Packard 120 sedan for a 1929 Ford 'A'phaeton. Before he traded , he let me drive the Packard several times. Driving the '36 Packard very much reminded me of driving Dad's 1936 Buick. The cars are very comparable. I would be happy with either one.

  19. The Cincinnati Company They insure my Roadmaster , my 2003 Durango and 1990 F250 When I owned my own business , they insured my company vehicles. I had several claims through my business , I was very satisfied each time
  20. The advantage it seems is higher amperage. The starter switch on my Buick is grounded through the generator. that grounding system won't work with an alternator. To convert my car to an alternator would require modification of the starter swi tch, My car has been in my family for 47 years, During that time, the generator and voltage regulator have been replaced twice. The 30 amp generator works very well on average for about fifteen years.
