  1. To say this is better than watching TV would be an insult to you. To watch anyone skilled in their particular endeavor is a privilege and even if I don't quite follow all that's going on, it is great to watch it happening. My continued complements.
  2. My '67 Fiat Giardiniera, courtesy of my then young daughters, is Luigi courtesy of the Disney "Cars" movie.
  3. I don't know if I'll be able to store all these great "make-it-yourself" tips, but as I've said before, I never tire of seeing them! Great job!
  4. I'm with you. It is difficult to understand some of the abbreviations. I enjoy the postings immensely but get frustrated at these shortcuts. Please spell out or identify. Thank you so much.
  5. This is a photo of my Great-Grandfather's car in front of the vacant lot. He's the man holding the bundle in front of his company, City Laundry, in Akron, Ohio. I posted this a while back and I believe it was guessed to be a Cadillac but there wasn't general agreement on that.
  6. I can watch this craftsmanship all day long. Beginning (belatedly) to understand just how these seemingly impossible restorations are accomplished. Very few Mitchell parts at the local NAPA store.
  7. Thanks for the info. I tried to trade him even-up for my 2014 Mazda 3. He politely declined.
  8. I forgot to mention that when the owner started it and pulled away, it sounded like a diesel. Could it have been? If it was, it was one of the quietest operating diesel cars I've heard.
  9. Saw this while out with the wife today. Not a bad way to do your shopping. Any takers on year and make? By their license plate, I'd say it's a '64 but beyond that, I don't know.
  10. Heard of an interview with the original Mr. Willys, and if I remember correctly, he said that he didn't care how people pronounced his name if they had money in their pockets!
  11. Here's one vote for interest! I'm constantly amazed (as has been said on these forums many times) at the resourcefulness and artistry here. Nothing seems unsalvageable!
  12. HCS? Anyone care to add just a brief note on this make?
  13. Thanks for the thanks! It was a great day for me as it was my first involvement in an official AACA "function" and allowed me to meet three great members. Thank you Tim for that great ride in your '30 Chrysler and to Scott for his forklift ability. Steve, you are surely one of the hardest working guys I know and this club certainly benefits from that. It was exceedingly hard to just box and load the library without spending time looking at all the "goodies." After following this forum for quite a while, I'm glad I finally joined up. Hope to see more! Karl
  14. Please tell me that isn't a factory color on that Lincoln!
  15. Steve, I live about an hour and a half away (according to Google). I'll try to call tomorrow (4/28).
  16. From the looks of it, I'd bet that Jag currently has no oil leaks.
  17. What happened to answering the original query? I'd love to hear some stories on lame excuses for avoiding warranty work.
  18. At least the guy with the Chevy/Nissan used authentic mirrors to complete the ensemble! (Well, they do reflect, don't they?)
  19. When was the nosed changed from the Studebaker? And to what? I think the Stude flows better.
  20. Free advertising. They do catch the eye floating above a car!
  21. My neighbor across the street when I was growing up had one of those Union 76 balls on her antenna. She said it helped her find her car in a parking lot! Another great memory...
