  3. John, While I do not own a Sedan, I do own a 1931 Chrysler CM6 Business Coupe (Late Series). I went through a lot of Carburetor headaches - but am still running my original Schebler Model TX-65A! I happen to be in the Denver area as well. Happy to help out! I've got plenty of manuals, references, data and some learning experience! Feel free to message me! Good Luck! 1931Chry / Jeff
  4. Oldsmobile 455 C Code Engine Headers - Will need restoration / rebuilding - See picture for condition. Unsure of exact year. Located near Denver, CO. Best (or Any) Offer. Hoping to find someone who could use them. I'm a car guy myself and can't justify taking them to a scrap yard before at least offering them up here - I have no use for them, and need to get them out of storage to make room for other parts for my current car. Help me find them a good home! Reply here on the forums or send me a PM. Also have a used Edelbrock 1407 4-Barrel Carburetor - Best Offer - if anyone is interested. Jeff / 1931Chry

  6. Thanks keiser31, I believe you are right!
  7. Need help identifying the truck in the background - I am having a hard time matching the grill to anything concrete! If it helps, this may be a work truck, as the photo is on a Construction project site. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!
  8. I believe this scam is a typical "Overpayment Scam". Real basic description - They will send you more money than you request. After you receive the 'payment', they will 'apologize' for sending too much and ask you to refund them. After you 'pay them back' the difference, the original overpayment will have bounced or been declined - and you will have paid the scammer for nothing. Although this link is from the Australian Government, it still gives an accurate rendition of this scam, regardless of where you live: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/types-of-scams/buying-or-selling/overpayment-scams Good Luck selling your MG!
  9. The 11" x 1.5" Drums were used on the Chrysler '31 CM6's, DeSoto '30-31 CF Model after #6000801, DeSoto '31 SA Models, Dodge '31 DH, DI and Taxi Models, Dodge '31 DD Models after #3512375, Plymouth '31 30U Models (select serial numbers), and 31'-32 PA Wire Wheel models. See the attached (found this while searching around for my Drums). This hopefully will help expand your search, since the CM6 line is fairly unique in and among itself. As reference, see attached. This is Berkley #139, manufactured by the Berkley Company, in Utica, NY, but it references that the 11" drums were also used in all of these applications. Good Luck!
  10. Continued search for information here: Just want to confirm that there would be a singular, 2 filament bulb in the taillight, correct? This means that when pressing the brake, the beehive lens, the stop lens and the license plate lens would all simultaneously light up (or get brighter if the running lights were on) correct?
  11. No, can't make it this year. Wish I could! I know it would be a great resource to find my tail light, and, as usual, about a hundred other different things I wouldn't need! So maybe it's better I can't get out there this year?! Haha! Thanks for your help @thehandleman! Does your brother have a storefront in Colorado? Or some contact information?
  12. Thanks @thehandleman for the information! Actually bought the correct handle from you about 2 years ago, just haven’t gotten around to installing them!
  13. Thanks @jfiely! Let me know if you locate one! And again, thank you @keiser31, I'll keep you informed on whether or not I'll take you up on your bucket!
  14. Thanks for the response and the help @keiser31, @Spinneyhill and @viv w! Leads back to my original question: Looking for pictures / information for a 1931 Chrysler CM6 Tail Lamp / Light assembly. Exterior and Internal pictures would be appreciated to make sure that I can locate the correct part! And of course, any leads anyone may have on a correct assembly!
  15. Thanks @Spinneyhill! That was a lot of information, and really helps out! I know Chrysler's and Dodge's could share a lot of similar parts, or exchange parts easily. From what I read in your post, the FILITE brand should be stamped into the top of the bucket/body of the tail light for the 1931 Chrysler CM6 Line. Where would the part numbers be on any of these parts? In my experience in the headlights, only the lens (glass) had a part number listed in its casting. Does the same run true for the tail lights? I Understand that some lenses may have had 'DODGE' cast into them, I'm assuming the same was NOT true about Chrysler since it was too long? Do we know if there was any script for the 1931 Chrysler New Series 6 in the tail light lens? And to just confirm my original question, @Spinneyhill or others: A 1931 or 1932 Dodge Tail Light assembly (minus the lens / glass) would be nearly identical (potentially only internal changes) to the 1931 Chrysler CM6 tail lights? If so, it will help open up my search opportunities! Thanks all for your help!
  16. Would any Dodge cars of the same era have the 'correct' taillight?
  17. Not to derail this post, because I'm still looking for info, but per keiser31 request, see attached.
  18. Thanks keiser31 for helping out and starting the conversation! The bezel on my car currently doesn't quite look correct for the 1928 Imperial 80 series. The Imperial 80 (from google images) looks to be a true oval, where the one I have on my car currently has some embellishments on the 'corners' of the oval. Maybe some more research, but I think we are close. What tipped me off that my current tail light may not be correct, is that the stanchion (as you mention being correct) doesn't quite meet the bucket of the tail light as seamlessly as I think it should. I know the designers back then were pretty particular about the lines and matching everything up. Any additional information on the bucket, lens, 'door' or confirmation that it would have been stamped 'FILITE' on the bucket? Did the lens say 'stop' or anything? did the 'door' have that inset as shown in your picture? Don't know why my grandfather would have changed the tail light on the car... but here I am trying to piece together a history of the car, and piece together a 'period correct' / 'factory original' restoration in his namesake, and for the car's 100 year anniversary in 2031. A tail light looks like it is on my shopping list... What kind of pics you looking for? I, of course, have many! 1931Chry
  19. Good Morning from Colorado! I have a few questions as it relates to tail lights: I'm looking for more information on a 1931 Chrysler CM6 Tail Light. Can anyone take a few pictures of a correct tail light for the late series 1931 Chrysler CM6 Models? Are there any distinguishing markings, stamps, labels, distinct lenses, etc. that I would be able to tell a correct light from an incorrect light? Additionally, can anyone tell me what kind of light I currently have on the back of my car? See the pictures. It's stamped with 'Chrysler' on the top of the 'bucket', and has an embossed 'Chrysler' symbol on the bezel. My best guess is a Chrysler Imperial, judging from some eBay listings I have seen, but I know we all know how inaccurate they can be. Maybe this was an option for 1931 as an upgrade part (this is my hope, but i'm not holding my breath)? Either way I haven't been able to find much on this 3 light style tail light. Anybody have additional information on whats on my car? If I find that the tail light I currently have on the car is not correct, then I'll be on the hunt for the right one! If anyone has leads, I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance for your help! 1931Chry
  20. Posting information here if anyone needs it. Here is the information that I gathered for the Model CM Headlights when trying to find my own pair: CM Hall Depress Beam Headlamps Buckets: (according to the 1928-1935 Motors Handbook, Page 200) are part number 268-A for the Black Painted Bucket Assembly, or 268-B for Chrome Bucket Assembly. The assembly would have included the lamps, the reflectors, the wiring, and the doors. The Chrome buckets were an option if the 'customer' paid extra for them. Overall Diameter of the bucket is approximately 9.25". The Chrysler 8's had larger buckets, and had adjustment screws on the back of the bucket. Glass: Depressed Beam Glass Part Number H-12941- A Flat Glass, with Interior Lens Diameter of 7 63/64", Total Outside Diameter of 8 3/4". The notch is at the 180 degree mark (or the bottom) of the glass. Reflectors: Originally these have a silvered finish, approximately 9.25" Wide. Doors: Doors (or the parts that held the lens to the bucket, and allowed for changing the light bulbs) were about 9.25" Wide, and had raised 'beading' on the 90 degree, and 270 degree points on the bucket. The top had a flared out point at the 0 degree portion. The doors are connected by a tab from the reflector sticking out the top (at the 0 degree mark), and were connected at the bottom by a screw 'z' clip style attachment. Plug: The Electrical whip connection was made with a double contact headlamp plug, number 6212. Haven't been able to find this exact part. Lightbulb: It used headlight bulb Mazda 1000 Lastly, I believe the 1932 Chrysler 6 Cylinder Models (CI 6 Models) had the exact same bucket, doors, reflectors, plugs and bulbs. The only difference is that they used glass part number H-13464, which was a convexed glass.
  21. Boon1031, I have sent you a PM. Jeff/1931Chry
  22. Thank you all who have answered! A lot of good ideas shared thus far, and I appreciate the input i'm receiving! Don't misunderstand me @mercer09, I definitely enjoy the opportunities, stories, and company I receive when i'm with those outside my current life-stage. In many cases, this has led me to understanding items involving my classic that I never knew prior (such as one gentleman in my area pointing out that I have the wrong door handles, which starts another long search for door handles...). Often, the fine people outside my current life-stage is where I come up with solutions, and a better understanding of the era my classic originated, which has supplemented the fact that I cannot ask these questions or gain this understanding from my late grandfather. I truly appreciate, and thoroughly enjoy everything that the "seasoned" members/friends have been able to provide. For @vintagerodshop, & @BillhymerMD, if you ever find yourself near the Denver area, please contact me and I will treat you to a drink! Thank you for posting, and as mentioned previously (I think the comment was edited), I wouldn't even mind starting a club for all of North America if it meant that I may be able to share my interests with like-minded, and like-aged folk. As mentioned above by @Steve_Mack_CT, maybe a Facebook group would be beneficial? I'll keep both ideas in mind as this forum continues, and if nothing else comes about. For @Steve_Mack_CT, @mercer09 & @John348, thank you for your input. The same offer extends to you fine gentlemen as well, if you are in Denver, give me a shout out and i'll treat you to a beer!
  23. Good Morning (at least here in the Mountain Time Zone!), This has been a long time coming. I have honestly been thinking about trying to get together anyone under 40 with vintage cars for a long time. After reading the forum titled "Cars Pre-1940 and Enthusiasts Under 40: A Great Idea for Promoting Our Hobby to Younger Collectors", I have decided to finally see if there is any interest in my area: the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. I'm hoping that I can find a few members here that are of the Millennial Generation (Ages 18-40 give or take) that have, or are interested in, classic cars and the restoration process. I personally am not even picky as to the years of cars, although I personally have a '31 Chrysler. I have tried other groups (including reaching out to the local AACA Regional group), and have attended a few local car shows, but have found that I am consistently the youngest, or one of the few youngest members (at sub 30 years old), and would like to find others in my same or similar life-stage with my same hobby interest! Are there other members or forum goers who are interested in an Under 40's classic car group in the Denver, Colorado area? Would love to hear from you either as a response to this forum or through a PM. I'm thinking an occasional meet-up for a craft brew here in the craft brew capital of the world! Here's to hoping I have a few fellow young classic car collectors in Colorado! For all the seasoned and knowledgeable members, have faith that there is some interest from the Millennial generation! I personally thank you for all the help and support as I continue learning about the heritage and history, one car (and problem) at a time! I raise my glass to everyone! 1931Chry In partial response to the following forum:
  24. Thank you Jon! I've sent you a PM. As promised (even though it is a day late), i'm posting the picture of the "65A" stamped on the upper flange of the carburetor. This is to hopefully help someone out in the future. Thanks everyone for your help! Hopefully I can get her up and running soon! 1931Chry
  25. Jon/CarbKing, Thank you so much for your help! I would tend to agree with your comment about the Stromberg UR-2's being a little more "Available", and will look into these! I'm curious as to your information regarding the TX-37 vs. the TX-56 and TX-65. My carburetor does have "65A" stamped on the upper flange (I'll upload a picture later when I can get home and get a good picture), could this potentially be the TX-65 you are referring to? Odd that it would have this stamped into the upper flange, and then T37 cast into the body, even though they are all connected (and cannot be separated). Thank you for the information on the compression. I'm planning on testing this before the weekend! I don't expect to find much, but i'm taking the precaution anyway! Thanks so much! 1931Chry
