yeah, something I am always thinking about when taking a drive. I try to pick quiet days on the road and keep a distance. Also, the brakes in these classics are totally not what we are used to in new cars

Has anyone done just a 1-inch lowering spring, say with the kind they sell from OPGI? Wondering if it's even worth it. I don't like scraping (obviously) and my driveway probably can't handle anything beyond 2 inches.

I have the wheel cap you need. PM me. So happens I need two of the Riviera logo type myself. But I have an extra tri-shield as pictured here.

They all have four screws and I see no difference in the caps.

I have a mismatched set of wheel caps in my spinner-style wheels. I have two of the R logo ones and 2-3 of the buick shield ones. So I want at least two more of the R ones, because I think those are the correct style for my 64? I have twice ordered the wrong thing from CARS. They don't seem to have them, only the bigger ones. I'm just going to scour eBay for a while I guess unless someone has a hot tip!

I think those look great Doug! Maybe we should point at Foose or something but there is a fascination these days for big modern wheels on 60s/70s cars. Especially at classic car retail stores, I see it a lot. I have to say, I think the image way above of the Cuda with modern wheels looks bad ass. But there's no accounting for taste. I went and bought aftermarket wheels for my Jeep seven years ago and regretted it the second I saw the car roll out of the tire shop bay. It's just so hard to tell what is going to work until you actually see it in real life (probably after you bought them) - and drive on them to see how bad the ride quality is too, as discussed above. Pretty safe and stylish to just keep with the period wheels.

You are correct telriv, it's most likely a fuel issue on startup, but I have noticed lately it starting funny even after the initial one. I am probably stressing the starter already. I drive it every few weeks, not daily, of course.

Just reviving this thread because I bought the Ignitor III and matching coil and plan to install it soon. If anyone has any tips or words of warning, that'd be great. My main hope is to cut down the cranking time on startup. The car runs and idles fine on the stock setup but I thought this might be a worthwhile upgrade.

$7,000 seems crazy considering it needs a complete resto. What are these worth, when perfect? $35K?

The Edelbrock kit includes some sort of fuel sump for a returnless setup. Not sure where you have to install it.

Anyone install the Edelbrock EFI system in their car? I converted my Jeep to fuel injection a couple years ago and it was a wonderful choice. My Riv has the original engine and all, but I'd certainly consider spending the $$ for EFI at some point.

I'm going to try and drive it around once a month. It has brand new Coker tires, I don't want those getting messed up! Never thought to pull the battery and have a trickle charger in the house. That makes total sense. I can't really get a power cord to the car in the carport (condo setup) without pissing off a neighbor or something for having a cord out there. So I hadn't bought a charger, I was just using the jump box I have.

It's rainy rainy rainy here in the PNW and I haven't driven the RIv in 3-4 weeks. Decided today to go ahead and pull the battery cables off. It sits in a carport, covered. I don't have a garage. I guess I will try and start it once a month but not sure what to do with it. I hate driving it in the rain because the brakes are so touchy and the weather stripping needs to be fixed. Any advice?

I think I read that the coolant level should be well below the cap. My Riv has been spitting out some coolant from the overflow tube after driving and parked. Not much. I figure the mechanic just put too much in there. It's not overheating or driving weird - seems fine. I looked in the tank and it's the coolant is right near the top. Normal??
