  1. Don’t ever allow a shop to remove a wheel with turbines mounted unless you supervise the process!😩.
  2. The first generation rockers were definitely fortified. I see too many times where people incorrectly lift a Riviera by the rockers instead of the frame and they hold the car up just fine. I would never do it though.
  3. I agree the seats may have been mixed up at ASC. The interior colors were all the same. The workers probably were unaware if a couple of seats got mixed up.
  4. Great idea Jim. You need to do that! Of course the challenge will be having to explain it to those Dynaflow neophyte’s!😁
  5. Chances are they come from the same source but I have not bought any to compare.
  6. Try contacting the Sloan Museum in Flint, Michigan. They may have that information in their files.
  7. The Dynaflow had a PNDLR quadrant. The 64 ST 400 had a PRNDL quadrant but was a 3 speed transmission.
  8. Don’t give anyone any ideas. You may start seeing posi tags show up on BaT!😁
  9. Hey Ed, I bought a new 1987 6000 STE and that dash was over the top at night!
  10. Not 100% sure about this, but I think the formula and or the suppliers for the green paint changed a few times over the years that the color was used which led to variations in the color. Just my .02.
  11. Woodstock, CT! If you took a right at the stop sign, my old house was a couple of miles up and my street was on the left! Small world!
  12. Agree with your comment regarding Paul’s Chrome, Steve. I sent the rear bumper to them for the 65 I bought from you and it came back with a yellowish tinge to it. I didn’t realize they closed their doors but glad to hear it! I guess that’s why I haven’t seen their quarter page ad in Hemmings for a while.😁
  13. I used to go once in a while as it was a 20 minute ride from my house. I moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in June!😁
  14. You may have a difficult time lining the molding up with the bottom of the wheel well molding. It might be just the angle of the camera but the wheel well molding looks like it terminates about a quarter to a half inch lower than where it should to line up with the quarter panel molding. Please keep us posted.

I wouldn’t blame you for that! My thoughts entirely!

There may also be a buyer who is trying to build a GS clone but can’t locate a BS transmission. This would be very appealing to the buyer.
  17. The RPO code for electric trunk lock is A91. It required you to have an electric trunk release which had a code of A90. You could get A90 separately without A91. You should be able to see the electric trunk lid pull down in the trunk. If it isn’t there, it may not have had it or it has been removed. The light monitors (U46) operate by fiber optic cables.
  18. The rounded off bulb shaped backs at the base of the horns tell me they are not for a Riviera. I have had a couple of original cars over the years with 4 note horns and they were not like these.
  19. I have been a subscriber of Car and Driver for many, many years and I saved them all. When I moved back in June, I had to downsize my literature collection. I spent days going through boxes culling out my favorite editions. Rest assured, this issue made the cut!
  20. There should be a market for these. Originals that have been in use are very brittle from heat and age. Thanks for taking the initiative!
  21. Other than replacing a heater core on a first generation Riviera, fishing the fuel line up to the engine is my second least favorite thing to do!😩
  22. There might be one hanging on the wall in my garage Dave!🤣. Just kidding!
  23. I don’t think the POR-15 will do much for you as these mufflers have a common problem of rusting from the inside out. Some say a stainless exhaust will sound different but I have never swapped one out so I have no personal experience to reference. I have used Waldron’s from time to time and was always satisfied. I have not tried another source.
  24. I used to have the BCA judges manual but I remember the rubber battery terminal boots were not allowed. Ask me how I know! It cost me the difference between silver and gold!
