  1. What is the best coolant to put in my 1954 Buick Century? I presume there is a thread on here somewhere but can't find it currently. Any tips for the flush? Thanks, Kevin
  2. Anyone know of anyone who makes seat foam for older Buicks? I have a 54 Century and my upholstery guy says he can cut new foam but it is easier if I can find it ready made. Thanks...
  3. Dan, I found the attached build sheet yesterday in my 54 Century. Maybe it'll help you decipher yours. You would have loved seeing my smile as I unearthed it from under the carpet. Kevin
  4. Hi All, While pulling the front seat carpet back a bit to reposition it better, I found this 8x10 card under the front passenger carpet. (see attachment). It looks like some sort of build sheet with the options on my car. Has anyone ever seen one of these before? It describes my car to a T. Posted this on the 1954 Buick Hwy forum as well, so forgive me if you see it twice. Thanks... Kevin
  5. Sean - thanks - will try the Pittsburgh chapter option. Take care, Kevin
  6. Anyone know how to get a copy of the June 2014 Bugle? I recently joined BCA and noticed the June edition was all about '54s. Would like to have a hard copy. Thanks. Kevin
  7. Jpromo, Thanks. As you can see from the picture, mine has a few dings, so needs replaced at some point. If you can look for it, that would be great. Thanks!!
  8. I actually uploaded the picture in my "images" in my profile. I hope you can see it there. Thanks.
  9. I measured and it is 30 inches long, 2.5 inches wide at the bottom and about 1.5 inches wide at the top. I have a picture of it and can try to send in a private message. Thanks.
  10. It is about 2 ft long and wider at the bottom. I can measure exactly tomorrow. Thanks for looking for it.
  11. Hi all, I am looking for a piece of stainless steel molding for my 54 Buick Century 4-door. It is part # 1163662 and is for the right rear door. If anyone has one, used or NOS, please let me know, I am happy to buy it from you. Thanks! Kevin
  12. Chris, Thanks - yours is a beauty too! Yes, I want to go to the Rockville show in June, so hope to see you there. I hope to have the horn working by then  Kevin
  13. Unfortunately, the original spare was replaced with a brand new tire. Will post pic of the trunk when I can take one. Here is the data plate. I did not replace the tires last summer, was the previous owner. I think I would have kept them. And yes, the Nail Head V8 does scat, with a nice whiiirlll on acceleration.
  14. Thanks guys for the nice comments. When I drove out to first look at it, I said to myself, I am not going to buy this car! (Don't need, can't afford, etc.) Then I saw it and all that changed. Had to have it -- it had so much in its favor. Low mileage, almost all original, new tires (original tires were removed in 2014), new brakes, engine rebuilt 5,000 miles ago, great colors, etc. Mr Earl, I did not know some of those distinctions of the Century. Now, I can talk like I know something! Sure, you can put the year in the title of the thread, no problem. I will post a pic of the data plate from home. I love Buicks because of the many bold color combinations. Who would have thought a creamy beige would go nicely with a deep green interior. In fact the green interior makes the slightly tinted windows glow in a way that makes it very welcoming. Ya just want to get in it and go somewhere.
  15. Keith, Thanks. I tried to upload a picture when I posted this, but it didn't work. Here is one that should go through. I had a 55 special as my first car at age 17, so I am reliving my youth in this -- but a little more careful! Love my Buick!
