  1. Hey, Randy... That is really very nice. Lots of goofing around, but the payoff is great. Congratulations!
  2. Welcome to the Forum, Antonio- You are going to be a hit...you introduced yourself with photos and we love great old wagons! Where are you located? Your transmission shouldn't be too much of a problem to replace, but my experience is with a 1939 Buick, which is a completely different conversation. Looks fantastic and should ride like a dream. Best of Luck!
  3. Seems like a common task! Good job by us......
  4. Purported to be 1 of 3 remaining of this model, it's really a 1:1 scale model (meaning it's slightly more disassembled than the photo) Here on Craigslist
  5. Not knowing anything about the car, walking away sounds like the best guidance. However, if you can't live without it...go to one or 2 MVC offices. Somerville is the worst. Period. I had great luck 8 or 9 years ago at North Bergen when a PA seller never titled/registered in his name. Somerville told me to have him plate it in PA, then sign it to me, then come see them. North Bergen gave me a title and plates within 30 minutes. Obviously depends on current staff. https://www.state.nj.us/mvc/vehicles/historic.htm
  6. I was 12 or 13 when my mother let me drive up and down the driveway in a light blue 1961 Rambler American station wagon (with her as chaperone). 3 on the tree, but I did alright.
  7. Interesting article about the upcoming sale of Fangio's 300SL. It's a beautiful car in (Argentine) blue with white leather, and the provenance is amazing. Any guesses about the sale price? https://silodrome.com/juan-manuel-fangio-mercedes-benz-300-sl/
  8. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/412779760217689/ Can't say much more than "free Studebaker" Apparently it's been offered for 17 weeks now.
  9. You could try different filters, saturation and colors on your cell phone photo processing.
  10. I can't get over how simple in appearance these early 50's Lincolns are. Knowing what appears in 1958.....
  11. Hey! The lettering for W. S. Apgar is for a distant relative of mine on my mother's side. Seriously.....same clan, same state, split apart somewhere back in the day. Maybe I can get a $31,000 discount!
  12. I recently saw one of these on Rt. 287 in New Jersey. It was coming south when I was going north so I processed it as "Oh, look at that nose...a DS!" Followed a moment later by"....convertible??" Very attractive.
  13. It's a residential road and there was a beat up 80's pickup there, too, but that's it.
  14. Hey, Eric... Local car guys could hook you up with an old school mechanic. Too late to hit a cruise night to gather info....that would be great. How about a New Jersey AACA meeting or joining a Facebook group. https://njregionaaca.com/ Get a shop manual and jump in.... Doctor's Pontiac gave you a good list to follow and these cars are actually really easy to work on if you want to learn how to conjugate a few cuss words and trade some skinned knuckles for a "yeah, I did that" grin.
  15. Hiding about 12 miles from my house! It's on a road to a raptor rescue center, so it's not a secret but it is new to me. I got the vibe that if I put my card on it I'd get a call chewing me out for being on his property. Although....I have a '39 Ford and a '39 Buick so I could make the move to "collect the whole set"
  16. My Mom had one of these. Light blue. We collected many a load on our Boy Scout paper drives. First car I drove up and down the driveway. Pretty good accomplishment considering the 3-on-the-tree.
  17. Sage advice, though. Just like buying a car....can't let emotions get ahead of you. We're just poking around, but when it's time to get serious-without getting completely bonkers - you have to look at the 100 year flood zone, dock fees, the weekend flyover routes, water, sewage & utilities to that dream cabin, HOA's....all of the yuckie stuff.
  18. My wife and I enjoy teasing ourselves by cruising through listings on Zillow. Our current home in New Jersey actually has some great points, but taxes, weather, congestion and taxes are inescapable. Plus - did I mention taxes? Our son and his wife are likely to end up in the DC area, so we focus on searches in Virginia. From time to time some very interesting houses come up. One of my favorites had a cathedral ceiling with the walls loaded with mounted game fish Another had a couple of dozen other critters of various sizes and species. Although not a sporting fellow myself, both houses were.....intriguing. Today I came across this one and had to share: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/9566-Spring-Mill-Rd-Concord-VA-24538/84603711_zpid/?
  19. Appears quite nice in an attractive color combo https://kpr.craigslist.org/cto/d/pendleton-barn-find-1954-chrysler/7377454432.html
  20. Here's a high end Hudson from the AACA meet in NJ that sports a very bold and correct scheme:
  21. x2 on Owls Head. Heritage Museum is in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Pretty far east. New England Air Museum is in Windsor Locks, CT. No A/C there and I'm not sure my son has forgiven me yet for that side trip.
  22. New T-shirt "My parents went to a Duesenberg auction and all I got was a lousy Cushman!"
