  1. I was wondering if they are still looking to sell the sedan and if so how much for? Thanks for the help. James
  2. Might look into maybe putting a more modern unit under the cover thats a good idea, was hoping maybe another model cars one fit and I could just buy a whole replacement unit.
  3. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck replacing a 29 Dodge fuel sender, the one I have has corroded and isn't usable anymore and was hoping someone might know of somewhere I could buy a replacement or if another model cars one fits. Thanks for the help James
  4. I am after a Carter BB1-A for my 1929 Dodge DA last piece of the puzzle to get this car going. Any help is greatly appreciated. James
  5. Thanks for your help Jon I might keep an eye out for a BB1-A might be a bit cheaper than trying to repair a U-2.
  6. I am from Australia have tried the reproduced aluminium people but they only supply the castings and unfortunately I haven't been able to find a U-2 to use as a donor for parts. Thats good to know about the BB-1A's ill be sure to double check if I ever find one hopefully someone here will have one for sale, would a BB-1D fit a 29 Dodge? Thanks for your help.
  7. I put a post up a while ago and just thought I would post again I am in search of a carburettor for my 1929 Dodge DA. It currently has an Allstate 2405 carburettor on it which from my research was originally made for A model Ford, this carb works but I cant get the engine to run nice and believe that this carb just isn't suitable for a 6cyl engine. I was hoping someone on here might have something that I could buy to replace it, I have been looking at ebay for a Carter BB1-A or the original Stromburg but haven't seen anything come up. Any help is greatly appreciated. James
  8. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is a Carter BB1 A? Im not sure how to tell the difference between the different BB1 models. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Carter-BB-1-Updraft-1950-1957-Chevrolet-Chevy-Cab-Over-COE-Truck-Carburetor-/261659104125?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cec19137d James
  9. Is this the type of carbourettor your talking about? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/carter-bb-1-carburetor-/261629084476?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cea4f033c
  10. I found out about the Carter BB-1 and almost got one off ebay but the seller wouldnt ship to Australia so I missed out on it hopefully another one will come up soon. I cant belive out of all the parts I have found for the car the carburettor has been the hardest to find.
  11. I am trying to source a Stromburg U2 Carburetor for my 1929 Dodge DA if anyone has one for sale or knows of someone that has one it would be a massive help to me. As well as this I am trying to find an original throttle control lever I know this may be close to impossible to find but if by any chance someone has one or knows of one it would complete my car. Any help is greatly appreciated. James
  12. Does Larry have a website or email by any chance? I'm here in Australia and with my work the time difference can be a bit hard for calling people.
  13. I have looked at some of the other Stomburg carbs I was told the OE-2 fits the Dodge motor to but I haven't been able to find anyone that is willing to sell one.
  14. The bolt measurement for the inlet manifold is roughly 66mm (2.5in) from the centre of each bolt. The throat measurement is 36mm (1.4in).
  15. I have recently bought a 29 Dodge DA and its a great car seems to be in mostly original condition everything works as it should except the carburettor. I have done some research on this forum and believe it has an Allstate 2405 carb in it and unfortunately it has seen better days and I am in search of a new one. I was wondering if anyone on here might have a Stromberg U2 carb for sale as I believe this is what they orginally came out with or even a carb that might fit to get me going I was told that some Zenith carbs might fit? Any help is greatly appreciated as It is the only thing that is stopping me from getting the car registered and out on the road. Attached is a photo of the carb that is in it at the moment.
