  1. Thanks guys. I cant find a cowl tag so your comments are helpful. Was the tag inside or near the engine? It appears to be missing.
  2. Incidentally I don't see a back seat anywhere.
  3. I will check the model number on the tag when I go back to the garage. Thanks guys!
  4. According to your link they were 150's. Mine is a 210. The BelAir was the top version, the 150 the bottom, the 210 in the middle. It would be hard to tell if someone added the extra trim for the other versions though.
  5. Don't have it but this isn't a 2 door coupe. The coupe, aka hardtop, didn't have the post between the door and the back seat windows. Mine has the post so it's a 2 door sedan according to what I've read and been told. I also was told the 150 is the lightest. Of course the guy who told me this has several of his own. Details, details.
  6. I think that is the direction they were going with it before my dad bought it. I'm not sure what my father intended to do with it.
  7. I just checked the VIN and I guess this isn't really a BelAir, but a 210. It starts with B55B.
  8. Thanks for the message Keiser31. BTW, this is a Sedan I'm told, not a hard top. Sorry guys, I'm still learning...
  9. Link above wasn't correct: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1j_Rb5rf7tyLTVibVJsdVBud2c
  10. Hello again, I am preparing this for sale and looking for advice, just like the other cars you'all have helped me with. I've been told by people inspecting it that it is rust free, has a straight body and in good shape. The paint needs to be wet sanded and clear coated because it has a lot of overspray. The engine is a 350 4 bolt main. It has a fuel cell currently. There are still parts inside it that I have not gotten out to photograph, and I will upload those pictures once I get them done. I'm looking for anything you call tell me about the parts, value, etc. The body VIN matches the VIN tag. I have learned so much about the other cars I posted and I very much appreciate all the help! photos: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1j_Rb5rf7tyLTVibVJsdVBud2c
  11. Just waiting for my guy to put the new battery and solenoid in. I've already got my road trip vehicle, (2015 Tundra TRD - we've gone Tx-Or multiple times), but you are welcome to buy this one!
  12. I believe you. It's that way in Oregon too, at least Portland.
  13. This group of collectors are a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. Neat car!
  14. Hey guys, I will sell you an over 4000 Sq Ft shop with lift, plus another shop over 4500 Sq Ft to store your cars on 4 acres in Hill Country of Tx, not far from world famous Lukenbach for under $200K. My father had a dozen cars stored with room for more. I will even throw in a lifetime's collection of mechanic tools, including multiple engine lifts, drill press, sanders, welding equipment, large steam cleaner, kerosene heaters, two big tool chests full of speciality and regular tools, etc, etc. I'm in the real estate industry in Oregon and I'm shocked how cheap things are here. There's also a 5 acre parcel across the street with a 2002 manufactured home on it. Live in it while you build your dream home!
  15. That's a great idea. I have a lot of Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint cars that I need to rehome. Some are worth some money but don't have the patience to get them back in thier boxes and eBay them.
  16. And Happy Holidays to you too Carl. I keep forgetting it's the holidays because it's so warm in Tx and I'm so focused on the tasks at hand.
  17. Thanks Carl. I worked in Portland and actually live close to Corvair Underground as well. He saw my fathers 61 Rampside and said it was in the top 1% of any he had seen. I sold that one on eBay and got a lot more than anyone expected. My appraiser was right on the money with his estimate. He is from my home town, well respected in the hobby, and has about 50 cars himself. He has been a true blessing to me. Helped me sell all the cars so far and although I have paid him a little here and there, he helps a lot without charging and texts me almost daily when I'm in TX or in OR and actively working on the cars. The only time I'm not working on these cars is when my father's health issues preclude it and take my attention away. I will keep Bob in mind though. Might be a good person to contact if I take the '63 Turbo home. I'm still kind of leaning towards keeping that one if possible. I figure I can fit that one and the '57 Retractable in my garage if I crawl out the windows. Haha
  18. I looked up that movie and was thrilled that it's a car just like this one. A friend who comes down from Oregon to help me told me, when he first saw it, that it looked like a boot leg car. Since prohibition was in the 20's I dismissed it, but maybe on some level he had seen this movie and made the connection. Thanks for posting this. I got a kick out of it and intend to watch the entire movie at some point.
  19. Thank you. I spoke with someone today who has worked on these cars with my father and was able to give me a lot of background info. He said it was running, as all the cars and even the loose V8 engines he has did, when it was put in the garage for storage. So any dust would have been accumulated in storage to date.
  20. Thank you for your encouragement and advice Carl. This has been a rough couple of years. This car stuff is just one aspect. I spent over a year fighting (you wouldn't believe how they tried to harass and intimidate me into submission, but I finally succeeded), with the VA to get proper care for my father and also took care of him as long as I could. Your comments mean a lot because sadly my father has no idea what is going on with the cars. He doesn't remember them. He would be a big help if he could, but then again, I'm sure he would have a better way to do most of this and I could never live up to his abilities, so maybe it's a blessing. I am so very grateful for all the support and advice I have received here. It means a lot to me to have the support of my father's peers since he is unable to guide or encourage me. He had faith in me though, and has had me as his executor since I've been an adult and also gave me POA as soon as I asked for it. He was married at the time and wouldn't even give it to her. I don't want to let him down.
  21. I was told the sun visor is an original I think he said aluminum and worth more than the reproductions on Ebay. It even has chrome on it. I also have original side wheel covers. Both in excellent shape. I'm told thier worth about $1000 and hard to find? Will be cleaning them up soon. Thanks for the info Todd.
  22. Also, the buyer is a manager at a new car dealership and has 50 cars himself and has been through this before. He does not think DMV in Oregon will accept title of the VIN is not on the title. Tx DMV will issue title with the old engine number without a bond, but when inspected in Or (or any other state I'd imagine), it won't match and DMV won't issue title. This basically makes the car impossible to title out of state and that reduces value I would imagine. Hopefully I will find a solution.
