88 Reatta, married with 2 sons, Christian, retired USNR
  1. Sold, to a man who will be fixing her up.... Thanks for everything. Hopefully Vernon will join.
  2. Thanks, folks. Car will remain in my yard at least a couple weeks, so spread the word. Wish I could keep her but my son has so many cars here now the prop mgt people are on my case and the Reatta needs the most work so off she goes...
  3. Thanks. Selling my 5/10 '88 red over butterscotch with extra ECC and I wondered if $1k was fair....
  4. Cool, Checked in to look at stuff re my current (but for sale) GM ride, and I found... Ayn Rand I love talking politics as I work in DC, but usually find this stuff on the motorcycle blogs I frequent... I'm retired military also and appreciate my blessings, but I reckon I am a drag on free enterprise. Even though it is mandated by the Constitution, my work at the Census surely must be a lib plot... I am sure when Trump is elected POTUS, he will get everybody cracking! Jeb says we should work harder anyway... And gosh, capitalism sure helped the finance industry lead the way to 2008, just as in the 20s. It be what it be like, indeed! Sorry for all the snark, y'all do a wonderful job on this board.

  6. Great pics, white letters work on a Reatta!
  7. THANKS, John! "I adjusted everything I could and it still won't run!" was turning into "I tore open everything I could and it still no vacuum line!"! So, the pigtail that plugs into the new fan motor I installed contains the vacuum line to the firewall and controller, if I am looking at yr great foto correctly. It sure would be good to regain control of my vent settings. I'll look there after work. Thanks again!
  8. Indeed. However, how does it get from there to the T-connection at the engine? I opened the large wire harness and it is not tucked in there... after it broke, all I have is 6" of tubing from the T aft of the check valve. I cannot find the rest of the tubing to the firewall IN the ENGINE compartment, under the hood. Thanks
  9. i just broke my vacuum line changing out the heater fan motor, and cannot find the firewall end of the line. Did you get yours repaired? Where is the line that goes into the firewall? Inside the wiring harness? tks
  10. Happy MLK, The ventilation motor died in my '88 so I replaced it Saturday with an NOS Delco. Installation into that tight spot went well. However, upon moving the big wrapped wiring harness between the engine and the firewall out of the way, the thin plastic vacuum tubing for the HVAC system broke, and I cannot find the other end that I need to reconnect it to! The end from the splitter just aft of the check valve is visible, but where it broke off from is not, at least with my poor eyesight. I suspect like in my Camaros that this vacuum tubing is enclosed in the big wire harness for protection, and that the other end has receded into the harness. Before I slice that harness to fish it out, I just want to make sure i am not looking in the wrong area for the tubing that runs thru the firewall to control the vent settings. Cruise is hooked up so it is not that, and my HVAC only runs with both the heater and defrost working in default. At least it is warm in the car! Thanks for any advice as usual, Mike
  11. PO put BS Potenza 009s on my '88 stock wheels and I like them; good grip
