  1. Hi Folks, Looking for Franklin expert to come to our shop and troubleshoot a driveability issue with a 1927 Franklin 11B. Car is located in Syracuse, NY. Can supply most resources and tools. PAID GIG. Respond via email and I'll shoot you my phone number and can provide more information and details. Thanks, Ed.
  2. Hello fellow Franklin Owners: I've been assigned by the folks who run the Onondaga Historical Association to organize the antique car participants for the grand re-opening of the Hotel Syracuse in June of this year. (June 4, 2016) You can read some about it here: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2016/03/gala_event_planned_for_hotel_syracuses_reopening.html and more specifics here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/hotel_syracuse_gala.pdf Onondaga Historical Association and the Franklin Club have had a working relationship for some time. Additionally, after meeting with Gregg Tripoli (OHA Director), he has shown a true affinity for all things Franklin and it's honorable place in Syracuse history. Anyhow, the gist of the matter is this: - They would like approximately 12 cars - preferably Franklin's (since made in Syracuse), but not absolutely necessary. - Prefer most period correct years (ala 1920 to say 1930) (Hotel opened in 1924) - Timing would be for cars to be on display from about 2pm until about 7pm. - They want to do photo shoots with the Cars, the Hotel in the background, Developer of the Hotel, the Mayor; plus they plan on having participants dressed in period costume milling about, etc... For each participant: The street will be cordoned off and reserved for the cars to be eminently displayed directly adjacent to the Hotel Each participant will receive two fully paid tickets to the event, including cocktail reception and Dinner for 2 at the imperial ballroom. ($300 value) I don't know how many Franklin owners would be available for something like this (??); but as a fellow owner, I wanted to post here first. If interested, please respond to: mail@empire1.net and include your name, contact phone #, year, make, model of vehicle, picture (if possible) - and I'll email you back shortly and can get you more specifics. Even if you can't make it, but perhaps know of someone in the vicinity with a vehicle that meets the criteria above (sans Franklin) - please have them do the same. Thanks in advance, Ed. 1927 Franklin 11B
  3. Anyone have a source for a replacement speedometer drive for a 1927 11B or equivalent?
  4. HI Scott I'm looking for 1) Watson Stabilator and bracket (not to get in front of anyone else ) 2) Headlight swicth and/or whole panel 3) Fuel gauge https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/20150917_162046.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/trek2014/IMAG5428.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5314.jpg Pictures here- all for an 11B or similar. PM me, and I'll get you my cell #. Ed.
  5. I was troubleshooting issues with the dome light circuit, and decided to "READ" the manual. It alludes to the fact that the cigar lighter device in the 11B may also function as a domelight switch? I looked in the drawings section, but wasn't able to clarify exactly how the device was supposed to work. It seems to me, that when the trim ring is fully adjusted to the dash panel, it does not allow for any movement of the push-pull switch. This seems a little odd. Can someone clarify what the operation of this bottom switch is supposed to do? Thanks, Ed
  6. Looking for light switch as pictured in attached. Not the panel, just the switch. If you have one and want to part with it, let me know. Thanks in advance! Ed
  7. Any idea on proper torque for the 11B demountable rim to hub bolts? (3) I didn't see anything other than "tighten if loose" in the manual. Thanks! E.
  8. Looking for Series 11B gas gauge. (as mounts to the tank) Will be attending trek, so if you have one and bring it, I'll be happy to pick it up there. Thanks in advance, Ed.
  9. I'm in need of replacement pistons for 1927 11B. Can someone suggest a source? Also, one of the jugs has the tab broken off where it mounts and they have just attached it using a washer to the existing flange. Any hope for finding a replacement one of these? What about all the gaskets needed for reassembly as well? Ideas much appreciated. 10. Got the oil pan off and discovered some items that weren't supposed to be in there I think: What to do for replacement pistons? ~Ed. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5542.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5543.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5544.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5545.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5546.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5547.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5548.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5549.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5550.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5551.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5552.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5553.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5554.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5555.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5556.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5557.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5558.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5559.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5560.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5561.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5562.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5563.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5564.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5565.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5566.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5567.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5568.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5569.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5570.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5571.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5572.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85044790/franklin/pics/IMAG5573.jpg
  11. So, I drained the Trans and Diff, and what I see looks pretty yucky. Is it recommended or possible to flush with something before refilling? ~Ed.
  12. It was recommended to drop the oil pan and clean out any 'gunk'. I'm curious about the gasket..... Is it reusable, or should I just use a high-temp gasket compound, or something else? Thanks, Edwin.
  13. Four used 6.00 x 20 Blackwall used Tires, Tubes, and Flaps. Holding air when removed from car, but two tires exhibit a fair amount of dry rot/checking. I'm sure they'd be fine for a static display, but I wouldn't drive on them. Unsure of exact age- I'd guess at 15-20 yrs. Tread is good, and the tubes and flaps could probably be reused with new tires. Not sure what they're worth- but since the new ones are $1k. I'll throw out something like $200? Located in Syracuse, NY. ~Ed Ed.
