  1. Sometime between the late 1920s and early 1930s, Roane County, TN put the county's first two school buses into service. I believe this photo may be those first two buses or others placed into service a few years later. According to local stories, the cab/passenger areas were wood frame (not metal) construction. This photo appears to be the front view of one of buses in the other photo. These are Depression Era photos. People made do with what they had. Roane County, TN had plenty of saw mills, excellent carpenters and creative thinkers. It wouldn’t surprise me if these two “school buses” were built from a variety of truck/car parts, local lumber and other available materials. Can you tell me the make, model and year of these buses and if the cab/passenger areas were factory options or after factory custom work? If necessary, I can chop the first photo in half and submit each bus individually. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Sharon
  2. I am starting to realize that these antique cars may not be what they seem to be to the untrained eye. The smallest detail could make a big difference. Knowing the details, significance of each and how to apply them makes a bigger difference. You folks do it all! The knowledge and expertise I continue to see on this site is impressive and amazing to say the least! The willingness to share it is a credit to you all. Thank you, Dave
  3. Thank you again. This is all so very helpful.
  4. That is a beautiful car! The photo will help recognize it if I find a complete photo in my old collection. I have looked at so many black Model T Fords that this burst of color is a refreshing change. Was the original color for this car or was it added during restoration? All of these old classics look drab in my old faded black and white photos and I am sure they were not all black. I love the looks of this 1930 Whippet Roadster(recently identified for me). I imagine it may have been a very sporty yellow with black striping. Thank you very much for your help.
  5. Thank you. I will change the year to 1925.
  6. That is much closer that I could get. Narrowing down the year range is very helpful. Thank you so very much.
  7. That is very possible. I believe this family did own a Nash or two at various points in time. Thank you very much. The expertise and knowledge on this site is amazing.
  8. My estimate for the date of the photo is at little off. It is more likely to be around 1920. The kid in the photo is my great uncle. He was born in 1910 and appears to be around 10 years old (was always tall). The car appears to have been used on the farm quite a bit and possibly for several years. The year 1914 makes perfect sense. The family generally kept "working vehicles" until they were worn out. A newer and nicer vehicle was kept for family outings. Thanks to all of you for the amazing information.
  9. The range of 1916-1920 is close enough for me. I just didn't know if it might have been an older Model T with a current tag. You guys are amazing! I am impressed with your knowledge and really appreciate your help. Thank you.
  10. Oh good. I got fairly close on another one! Thank you again.
  11. Without the full view of the vehicle I couldn't seem to narrow this one down. You are correct again! Thank you.
  12. Thanks. I would have never figured that out! It would be nice to own it.
  13. Wow! I can't believe I may have correctly identified one of these old cars. They are all amazing. Thank you.
  14. I am sure you are correct. Some of the vehicles made in the early 1900s are hard for me to identify. The views that show up in online searches and the reference books I have usually do not match that well. It gets easier after the 1930s. I appreciate your knowledge and assistance.
  15. This car seems to be a 1928 Ford Model A Roadster but I am not sure. Please let me know if it is something else. Thank you.
  16. This photo is from the 1920s and taken at a school. The truck seems to be of the heavy duty type. Does anyone know the year, make and model? Thank you.
  17. This photo is probably from the mid to late 1920s. The vehicle looks like it may be a Model T Pickup but I am not sure. Does anyone know the year, make and model of this vehicle? Thank you.
  18. Is this a 1924 Ford Coupe? Thank you
  19. This photo was taken in the 1920s or possibly the early 1930s. Maintenance is being performed on the front end of this old car or truck. I have no idea what it is. Does anyone know what the year, make and model might be? Thank you.
  20. I have no idea when this photo was taken. Possibly in the 1920s or early 1930s. Any help identifying the two vehicles will be appreciated. Thank you.
