car crazy replied to dalef62's topic in General Discussion
Sympathies to you on the loss of your Dad. What a great car to remember him by. I had an original '41 Continental coupe I sold recently- they are truly beautiful cars. Hope you have many enjoyable miles with her. -

Electric vehicles, oil demand, internal combustion...a good read
car crazy replied to trimacar's topic in General Discussion
It is estimated that it takes 28,000 gallons of water on the average to fight a lithium-battery powered EV, vs. 300 gallons for an internal cumbustion powered vehicle, and can take many hours, even days, for an EV powered vehicle's fire to finally go out. Now just imagine an EV in the parking garage of a large building, or in your own garage. -

Packards at the Yalta Conference (1945)
car crazy replied to 1935Packard's topic in General Discussion
It was my understanding the Packard body dies were sold to Russia.Pretty sure Packard would have been happy to have had them with the huge demand for automobiles immediately after war's end. -
Certainly looks like a '39 or '40 coupe from what little I can see..

Automotive Legislation: Too Important to ignore!
car crazy replied to f.f.jones's topic in Automotive Legislation
This is indeed an extremely import topic that should not be rationalized away from open civil, non-political discussion. To reiterate my "never say never" comment, who among us would have imagined 30 years ago electric cars would be in our futures, and that the elimination of the internal combustion engine for automobiles could be a possibility? -

car crazy replied to alsancle's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Trying to locate this gasser- a copper/black 1940, the Will-A-Meaner, built by Ollie Olsen in West Palm Beach. It was running a 426 hemi in it's last known B class iteration. -
Uncle Al, Pearl Harbor survivor now belongs to the ages.......
car crazy replied to edinmass's topic in General Discussion
Deep sympathies to you and your family on the loss of not only your own hero, but also the loss of a true American hero. I had a long-term neighbor and friend who was also a Pearl survivor, and he went on to serve in the Pacific for the duration..American heroes without question.. -
Kinda my thoughts as well. Something to...look forward to???
