  1. Here is a couple of pics from today's rock the port show and yes they are all original like the car and it was only 105 deg as well Matt
  2. Well it was another balmy 105 deg day here in Adelaide and more girls need a photo shoot car!! Matt
  3. WOW Adam you have done a fantastic job looking at the photos you may think its not perfect but I'm sure Lance will be driving around with plenty of people rubber necking !!!! Matt
  4. Mike we had Linda Gail Lewis as well performing and lets just say she sounds like her brother (Jerry Lee) I have some different photos as well but ##### not for the forum............ NO junk in that trunk.... Matt
  5. We had a car show on the weekend for Australia day and I thought you guys might like to see her in all her GLORY !!!!!! P.S the car scrubbed up OK as well to take best 50s award Matt
  6. Taken at our clubs Australia day show Matt
  7. WOW Pete it looks amazing and the paint combination looks like my 57 .... I think you will have a stunning car when she is all back together:D !!! More photos of the progress will be fantastic Matt
  8. I have to agree with you Old -Tank as the set that I received had the 35 Psi sticker on them but now I've inflated them up to 40 Psi they do look better.. In regards to the white wall size for the 57 every bit of advertising literature and photos that I have like Caballero2 has what looks like the 2 3/4 white walls.. Matt
  9. Thanks again James for the wiring diagram and I have used it as per the drawing and it works fantastic !!!!! The only change we made to it was to use a 12volt relay as the substitute alternator had a 12 volt field wire and NO original wiring was harmed in this temporary system. Matt
  10. The White walls on the vehicle now are 2 3/4 Coker Classics as they told me that it was the correct size. I think they look nice on the vehicle but they say to run them at 35psi is this correct as they look a bit flat to me ???? When I took the vehicle in for it roadworthy check I had just black wall tires on and lets just say they looked SHIZEN on the vehicle!!!!!! MAtt
  11. This was going to be my next question and you beat me to it My3Buicks as I could not believe just how hot it was when I raised the hood !!!!!! So I double checked my gauges and the oil pressure was in between N - H and the temperature gauge was between C-N so it had me wondering why the engine bay was so hot !!!! Thanks for the heat and load advice on the generator as its seems to be a we don't like mentality over here with auto elec guys and as I'm NOT one your comments make me feel a bit more confident in the old generator system. I agree with the power master cost though as they are around $600 - $700 bucks here and as people say that they are the best in the business !!!! Matt
  12. Hi Buick Man I thought that as well about the narrower white wall but after seeing the original U.S Royal spare I have different thoughts....:confused: Matt
  13. Wow Jim whats your postal address ???? You will be receiving a package shortly with my generator in it ..LMAO Most of the Auto Elec people I have spoken to have told me to put in a alternator because of our extreme heat !!! if I have to use the alternator as a permanent fixture we will use a power-master alternator just to keep the correct look .. I will still have the generator rewound as it looks pretty cactus inside and keep it on the self to stay with the paper speakers that I removed before our lovely sun turns them into toast .. James thanks for the electrical diagram I have given it to the Auto elec guy and he was really happy to see it .... matt
  14. That was the problem Jim!!!! it was smok'in under the hood and the the regulator finally cut out and it stop but so had the generator  I have just spent the night in the shed at a balmy 110 deg to install a alternator for the next week or two while the generator is out being rewound and a new voltage regulator arrives from the USA ....Has anyone used those alternators that look like a generator or should I just stick to the old generator ?? I was going to attempt to have a look at the speedo as well but the thought of a cold beer was toooooooo much to ignore ,but I will get to it in the next couple off days to just see if the cable needs a lube and is in good condition.. I'm thinking a bit like MY3Buicks that the more I drive her the better some things do get as I think just sitting around can cause some problems as well, but I will still check / lube cable and see how she goes ..... Matt
  15. Well I finally got all the paperwork from our transport dept today and took the old girl out for its maiden(legal) drive with the family .All was well then until we hit about 45mph then the speedo went up to 110 and stayed there until we came to a complete stop .... So off we went again and it did the same thing at 45 - 50 mph straight back to 110 - 120 mph  until we stopped again ..... Has anyone had this happen before ?????? I have also noticed that the generator is not charging now  …. And a waaay we goo! Have not seen the spec in my books so far. Perhaps the dealers did the roof divide and used the Cadillac chrome piece for the divide. A lot of this went on back then. Always have liked the front seat divider/arm rest that the model 62 Cads had and would of been nice to have had them in Buicks as well. With that said, if someone out there has a Super or Roadie, one could just use a donor model 62 front seat and get it reupholstered in Buick trim. I like the concept Buick Man but I thought the idea was to get the wife/girlfriend or date to slide over to you !!!! Matt
