  1. hey guys, so i recently got myself a 70 MGB GT, and i like it. i like it a lot. One problem: the shift knob is bad. Real bad. If i could attach pictures i would, but i will try and figure that out tonight. Anyhow, the shift knob has lost its polish (kept the paint on the emblem though), and it is soaked in hand grease. I now will always keep wet wipes in my car. The wood itself looks like it could be beautiful with a bit of work (and i have some experience with woodwork and finishing), so.... what should i do? Any advice or things you may have done in the past will help quite a bit!
  2. So I will be getting (hopefully) a MGB GT from a reliable source, and I will be getting it for $1000. Problem: I love racing old cars, and MGB GT top speed is 105 mph. So, onto the next question. Would I be better off turbo-ing the factory engine and enter in 1/4 miles? Or should I get one the old POC engines (and if I do, where could I find one on the cheap)?
  3. You guys have been amazingly helpful and timely, thank you all so much. I am definitely going to look around for tools and a 'mentor' in my neighborhood. I will definitely come here for classics questions first.
  4. Thank you all so much, and I look forward to keeping you guys posted. Also, I can check if the panels are plastic, but learning to power buff definitely isn't a bad idea.
  5. Well, before you guys all go asking me what my car is, what I want to do, and what I want to buy, I will tell you this. I am a kid who loves classics. I want a 65 Lesabre Custom Convertible more than anything in the world. One problem: I know little to nothing about cars. So, I have a crappy car that I plan to learn on. This car is a 2000 Saturn L series. I also spray painted it black and put a yellow batman symbol on the front. It was white. The curves required tape, and the "chrome" is untouched. Yep, I have dedication. Yep, I am stupid. So, I ask you all this question: what do I do? I plan
