I took my spare tire cover off and noticed 2 small holes on each side on the bottom . Does anyone know what these are for ? Is something supposed to go in the holes to hold it togeather?

Forgot to mention i have a 56 thunderbird with a 312 engine.

I want to get a new thermostat being i'm changing the valley pan gasket. What does everyone use in their car 170 or 180 or what temp is best?

I can't seem to find a place that sells bumper bolts for my 56 thunderbird that are chrome capped or polished stainless steel.

I got my rear bumper back from the chrome shop today, is there any set way to put this back on, I want to do it once. If anyone has ever put one back on i'd like to here about your problems you encountered.

Very nice looking car . wish i could sell mine faster , then i'd buy this one.

Has anyone put one of these pcv valves on their engines? What good does it do, and can it harm anything? Would one have to close off the oil fill hole too?

My valley pan gasket is leaking in the rear so i'm going to replace it. I have to put new intake gaskets on in the process. Do the new type intake manifold gaskets with the small hole in the center, to prevent burning of manifold, mess with the engine or should i just keep the regular ones on there?

When i start my car black soot comes out of both tail pipes and gets on my garage wall. It will dust right off the wall with a rag. what could be the cause of this?

I was looking to get me some new shocks in front and rear, any recommendations? My car goes down the street like a boat (up and down) I'm guessing the shocks are bad. 1987 last time replaced.

I was going to do my timing and can't see any marks on the balancer , or even the pointed part with the lines on it. Does anyone have a picture of what is supposed to be there or if the pointer is missing can i buy one somewhere. Thanks guys.

Is there a way to tighten the rear hold down clamps ? Mine seem not tight enough. The ones all the way in the back below the window. thanks bob

i want to set the gap on my points that i just put in. Im not sure how to do it . There is a top and a bottom screw holding the points. They both seem to be adjustable .Any help will be appreciated.
