  1. Today was a good day for a ride in my "New" 1937 Ford Fire Engine. This is a new arrival, and I spent a few days checking and fixing things before taking a ride. Smokey greatly approves of this new acquisition.
  2. I Took a 1985 Chevrolet Conversion Van in on a trade. Decided I better make sure there was nothing in it that shouldn't be. It was a disaster inside, lots of random junk. When I looked under the driver seat there sat a beautiful Stainless Colt .357 Revolver, loaded with hollow points. Later that day the gentleman who traded in the van returned and asked if he could retrieve something he forgot. I said go ahead. He went out looked under the seat and went into a panic. I told him I already found it. I gave it back even though I didn't really want to. It was probably worth more than the van.
  3. Glad everyone is going to be ok. Hopefully the car can be repaired as well. Not posting the photo is the right call.
  4. I have driven parts of 66 and the Lincoln. I found both to be enjoyable. I think anytime you can get on an old road with an old car it is a good thing.
  5. There is chatter on Instagram and Facebook from folks who had parts stolen at Hershey. Be on the lookout of an early 2-barrel Hilborn Fuel Injection serial number 115 with a broken mounting hole. Also, A set of 1932 Ford front fenders has been listed as stolen. Very sad to hear that this happened. Did anyone else have a problem with theft?
  6. The world has been going to end my entire life. The date just keeps getting pushed back and miraculously if we give up something or pay money, we can push the date back more. Expiration dates come and expire and a new one is given by the same folks who gave the last one. But we have hot days, cold days, record hot days, record cold days, it still snows, it still rains, and the sun still rises in the east and sets in the west. Follow the money both ways. See where the push for the idea comes from and where your money really ends up. Then ask yourself why does that group want this. Who is funding them? Then ask who is funding them? Saying any more might get me banned.
  7. That is great. I don't care. Let 2 through 10 deal with it.
  8. Perhaps some other countries need this program more than the USA?
  9. This gets into prohibited conversation topics really fast...
  10. The barn was built in 1929 the Ford in 1932. Today is a wonderful fall day for touring here in Ohio.
  11. Well in just a few short days the beans and corn have turned. The air is crisp in the morning. The world feels like it is time for Hershey.
  12. There are multiple conversations taking place in this thread. With 10 pages anybody can comment or quote about something that happened earlier. Sometimes this can be hard to follow. Thanks for sharing your Packard. I started this thread to be fun and to share what and where you are driving.
  13. Monday was a cloudy day, but still a good day for Model As.
  14. Sometime in the mid 1990s I was wiping dust off a 1926 Packard at the Kruse Auburn Auction. A voice from behind me said this is a very nice car. I turned around and met Jay Leno. We spoke for a moment, and he continued on his way.
  15. I ran some errands with the 1932 Ford Phaeton this morning and stopped to see the Locomotives in Bellevue. Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum – Bellevue, Ohio (madrivermuseum.org)
  16. That railroad bridge is on an old section of the Lincoln Highway from the 1913 route.
  17. I tend to run old cars where they feel right. More by sound and well how the car feels. This Cadillac feels happy at 45-50. There is certainly more left in it. 78 would certainly be a ride. I broke 60 once in a Ford Model T with some speed equipment. That was a religious experience.
  18. The Cadillac is a great road car. The two-speed rear end lets us cruise at 45-50 mph with ease. We have had that car out for some day trips in excess of 100 miles.
  19. 85 miles of backroads in Ohio today. Perfect weather and a 1914 Cadillac. Who could ask for more?
