  1. Once my ad is put together and placed in E Bay, can my ad be edited, if wording needs to be changed or an update to existing pics needs to be performed , etc ?
  2. Matt, I truly appreciate your assistance and direction ..... thank you !
  3. Here is my question to Matt or V.L., or anyone else who has had positive car selling experiences on E Bay. Regarding the deposit, which is due 24 or 48 hours, after the sale is final. Does anyone or everyone state the deposit is non refundable ? It would be my thought that a "non refundable deposit" would separate the actual buyers from the guys who are just playing games. Your thoughts and experiences ? Thanks.
  4. Bernie ....... you are on a roll with your posts. We need you to write an automotive column ........ you have made me chuckle today. Thanks !
  5. You know best, as to where and how you will proceed. You certainly must know you have the friendship and support of those of us on this AACA forum. Blessings to you, as you move forward.
  6. I am sorry to hear this, V.L. Don't make a decision which you may regret, down the road.
  7. Thanks V.L., I will look for your message. Thanks !
  8. Thank you, trimacar and keiser 31. Is it necessary to have a PAYPAL account ..... or can I just specify to wire the down payment ?
  9. Any car I personally have sold, was done in person. But now, with the Internet, our choices have become so vast. Any inquiries I have had, regarding my '51, have been from long distance potential buyers. I have received VALUABLE INFORMATION from all the AACA members here, regarding auto inspections and payment transactions. For that assistance and input, I say "thank you". I have not listed anything "for sale" on E Bay, but have made numerous purchases from E Bay. Now, has anyone listed their car for sale on E Bay ? If so, how did the E Bay experience of selling your car work for you ? Thanks !
  10. Very innovative ........ good thinking. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Again, the male connector is on the vehicle side, not the trailer side. Let's move on. The point is, with the red power / battery lead connected under the hood, the 12 volt wire is live .......... through the vehicle and back to the vehicle connector. If that live blade was to be damaged / interrupted, a short or spark or fire could follow. If the live 12 volt wire, itself, was damaged, in any way, going from under the hood to the rear bumper, the same issues could be the end result. So ..... to lessen the chance of unwanted problems, CHEVROLET left the live wire unattached, unarmed.. The owners manual addresses the 12 volt hookup, if towing with all 7 blades is needed. . Some towing situations only require a 4 blade connection, allowing the 12 volt power line to remain unarmed.
  12. The trailer wiring plug connector, on the VEHICLE, has the MALE connectors, the wiring plug connector, on the TRAILER, has the FEMALE connectors.
  13. Great info Matt, thanks for your detailed information.
  14. I have a '51 Chevy for sale, which has attracted a high level of interest. Problem is, most of the interest is not close to home. Potential buyers have asked if I would allow a company to come to my home, to evaluate the car. I have not had this experience, do not know what to expect. I would like feedback, as to what happens when a potential buyer pays for an inspection. What does the inspection consist of ? Thanks.
  15. A great time coming up for the Skyliner, you AND your Dad. Congrats, V.L.
  16. STUDE LIGHT, I think my post did not connect, with some.
  17. Did I mention I went to look at the new Tesla Roadster? Man, that car is just otta this world !
  18. Guess the mattress idea sounds better, after reading those two posts.
  19. It appears wiring the money would be the best approach. If, however, cash was the method of payment, a $5,000 cash deposit into several accounts would not raise red flags or require forms ?
  20. Worry about exposed license plate numbers belong to the person who stuffs their money under their mattress, because they don't trust banks.
  21. A gent is coming from 800 miles away to look at my car, which is for sale. If he likes it, he pays, gets a clear title and drives or tows it home. Besides cash, any other form of money to be accepted ? Price is 20K.
