  1. It was sold years ago by the family kids who had no clue
  2. If you wish to see pictures of the motor I can send them. I can be reached at 916-759-1305
  3. so i went and measured the cylinders, they appear to be 3-3/16th in diameter the engine block number on the front lower driver side is *257717A* the gentleman whom owns it currently told me that motor had been removed to have a rod bearing replaced, but soon after the gentleman passed. the motor appears to have a generator or something on the front lower side of the motor. I am not sure if that is correct. I now have pictures which I can email if someone is interested. also the numbers on the pistons were wrong they are 8245, additioanlly all the valve have the packard logo on them

  5. I will have get back out there and measure it. There was a 4825 number on each piston top along with the basici number.
  6. I am posting this to see there is interest in this barn find. This is a 1929 Packard straight 8 with transmission. The owner had the motor and trans removed at 40k to have a repair done. He passed away during the tear down and soon after the mechanic whom was going to done the work also passed. The motor has had the head removed. The pistons still show the numbers on the top. The timing chain and gears are still there along with the head and intake. The flywheel and pressure plate is still attached but the trans is on the floor. It has no oil pan or at least we haven't uncovered it yet. Starter is still on and the engine is on a custom engine stand. The elderly gentleman who has it now and hopes it will go to someone who may need it for parts or a build. If your interested you can email me and we can arrange for pictures and more info. The engine is located in Lincoln CA
