  4. An original pair sold on ebay for $3350. complete with minor pitting of chrome and some desilvering of mirrors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141895669563?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. Not sure if these are too far away to fit the bill but they are for 63 Studebaker. Not mine just forwarding. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/bedford/studebaker-nos-sheet-metal/1044788307
  6. Ian I have been following your posts with great interest and find inspiration in your efforts and results. Your postings are always read and while I have a 1934 Plymouth PE sedan I find there are a great many similarities with the 34 Dodge. I am not doing a full scale restoration but constantly strive to improve the originality and functioning of my car. Keep up the good work and know that there are likely a lot of kindred souls like me following your updates Stephen Toronto, Ontario Canada
  7. Another possible option is a drive screw typically used to fasten nameplates to generators/starters etc. See link page 41 http://restorationstuff.com/pdf/RestorationSupplyCompany.pdf
  8. Checking ebay there is curently an active listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1935-48-Mopar-Ball-Trunnion-Pin-Universal-U-Joint-Leather-Dust-Cover-Boot-/301751852313?hash=item4641cfdd19:g:IeQAAOSwEetWAaKn&vxp=mtr In additon there is a completed listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-1936-37-38-39-40-41-42-46-47-48-PLYMOUTH-DODGE-MOPAR-UNIVERSAL-JOINT-COVER-/201431307840?hash=item2ee63dd640:g:3kgAAOSwQTVV-qb6&vxp=mtr The first uses clips along the length and the 2nd uses a zipper. Both have wire ties on each end to secure. They look to be something an experienced sewer could make. As for ensuring the grease does not leak out they seem to do a reasonable job but would not be as good as the rubber boots used in later years.
  9. Price listed in Hemmings ad. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/diamond-t/201/1743697.html
  10. A word regarding Aircraft sloshing solution now that methanol is being used in gasoline. CAUTION: These products have been used for many years to seal aircraft fuel tanks. However, due to the recent increased use of automotive gasoline as an approved fuel for certain aircraft, Sloshing Sealer is recommended for use only in those fuel tanks using aviation or automotive gasolines that do not contain certain additives such as methanol. Use of fuels containing such additives could result in deterioration of the sealer, resulting in serious engine problems. If there is any question regarding your brand of fuel, please check with your gasoline supplier. Not approved for use in aviation fuel tanks.
  11. Try checking out their catalog - they have quite a selection of antique fasteners. http://www.restorationstuff.com/ To get the catalog online click on the button on their home page.
  12. In addition to KLF comments and from casual observation the horns may not be correct, the heater hose is not correctly hooked up at the bypass outlet and is the firewall and cowl supposed to be painted black? Photos of the undercarriage would be helpful from the owner. None of the above should be considered deal breakers but if authenticity is valued should be noted. Why not contact the owner to see if a lower offer is acceptable - you never know.
  13. Not sure if this is the same one being referenced but it just sold with an asking of $1500. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/belleville/sold-1942-chev-special-deluxe-4-door-sedan/1065009056
  14. Would this be the subject vehicle? http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/peterborough/1933-dodge-rumbleseat-coupe/1065008579?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true Comments on originality might help determine the restoration standard and hence the potential value.
  15. Try NC Industries - they make reproduction parts for 33-34 Plymouth and Dodge. http://www.windshieldframes.com/Products/Plymouth-Dodge4.asp
  16. For items shipped internationally the GSP also factors in a separate charge, "Import Charges" which can add significantly to the cost. Case in point a 1934 Plymouth gauge cluster currently bid to $305. on Ebay item http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-1934-Dodge-Plymouth-Instrument-Gauge-Panel-Cluster-Dash-Rat-Rod-SCTA-32-/271830889511?hash=item3f4a623427&vxp=mtr The add on "Import Charge" is $46.23 in addition to the @27.96 shipping fee if shipped to Canada. The total cost to ship anywhere in the US is $15.00 with obviously no "Import Charge" If same was shipped to China shipping would be $150. plus $99.98 "Import Charge" No idea what charges to Australia would be as this vendor does not ship there? In short if I am looking to buy on Ebay the "import Charges" can be a deal breaker as anything able to ship USPS does not carry this additional charge. In addition the "import Charges" escalate on a percentage basis so for some small low cost items this is a minimal cost but on small high value items this can be onerous.
  17. Does the vacuum hose get split along it's length and wrapped around the metal shaft or does the metal shaft get removed somehow to slide the vacuum hose on?

  20. Salt spray will eat into areas that you will not be able to get to. If your car has any age and value that you wish to preserve it deserves to be moved in an enclosed carrier.
  21. Check out on Ebay. Not cheap but appears complete and in good condition. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1933-1934-Plymouth-Coupe-complete-Garnish-Moulding-set-Rat-Rod-/201267964071?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2edc8168a7&vxp=mtr
  22. Hi John Although I was late with requesting this t-stat you were kind enough to search and come up with another one which arrived safely and in excellent condition. The hobby of keeping older cars authentic is made all the more possible by decent, honest people like you. (P.S. I'm not related to John) Thanks Stephen
  23. From Tod Fitch's web page the follwing lists the PE wheelbase at 114 inches. http://www.ply33.com/Models/PE/#specifications
  24. And now for something completely different. Dry Ice blasting!!! Unfortunately the location for this video is Denmark There are some Dry Ice blast services available in Canada, (not sure about USA), that are usually for industrial/commercial cleaning or fire damage or brick restoration but none that deal with vehicles that I know of?
  25. There are a pair on Ebay right now. Looks like they could clean up and be usable. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1932-33-34-35-Plymouth-Dodge-chrysler-windshield-hinges-/331404716873?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d2942ab49&vxp=mtr
