I’d probably start with the Bilstein shocks. See how that does. I think it would be a great improvement

Jim, I did everything all at once, so not sure what makes the biggest impact. Most of my info came from being a ROA member. I found that a lot had used the Bilstein shocks and seemed a great improvement. Stock Monroe’s or something like that can’t compare. Found the springs from an ad in the Riview magazine from a guy in Georgia. Bit lower, but firmer. ROA membership is well, well worth it!! All the info you need

65 Riviera with deluxe interior, mostly original except exhaust( magma flow). Car has GS springs, and Bilstein shocks. Upgraded 1 1/4 in sway bar, and poly bushings. Lights work fine, all interior lights work. A/C works. Has a scrape on passenger door and a few nicks. No real dents. 77,500 original miles. Car comes with set of 4 other tires with wider whitewalls, car cover, some Riviera emblems, and three oem fan belts. Located just outside of St. Louis. I bought weather stripping for my 65 from Rubber the Right Way, after some feedback from the forum. Looks like nice stuff, but when I started with the leading edge for the rear window, I am having a hard time making it fit. The piece I took off is more rigid, and the new one is nice soft rubber. It seems like the part that slides into the channel on the window is too wide. It is wider than the original I took off. Also, the original curves inward a bit on the bottom and the new one doesn't. Am I missing something here? Could be me, as I haven't ever replaced any weather stripping. Anybody ever used this product on their 65? Part number is correct. Any advice?

I think I figured it out. Transmission guy I know just happened to stop next door, and I grabbed him!! How about that!!

I have a 65 Riv that seems to run well, but doesn't want to kick down when I step on it. Any suggestion on where to start?

I just changed my pinion seal, and now need some oil to replace what leaked out. What should I use? 90 weight?

I'm on it, Ed. Been trying to find a 27f battery, but may take your suggestion and try a 24f, which is easier to find. Then the cables will be switched. Just ordered new H-2 style springs and Bilstein shocks from George Hussey, from the ads in the Riview. Super nice guy to deal with. I would recommend anyone looking for springs give him a call. He mainly works on Porche's, but owns a 65 Riviera. Great guy. He is dr914 on this forum or his ad is in the Riview , 1963-65 Bilstein shocks.

My 65 has an exhaust leak. Thought new gaskets would fix it up, until I read on Russ Martin's sight that Buick never used exhaust gaskets. What have you guys been doing to address that issue?

I just ordered some H-2 style springs and Bilstein shocks for my 65 from George Hussey(dr914 on this forum). Ride height should come out to 24" to the top of the wheel well in the front and 23" in the back. George was extremely nice and helpful when I called. Refreshing guy to deal with. He has an ad in the Riview and is a ROA member. He also owns a 65 Riviera!

Here are a few pics of my newly acquired 65 Riv. No rust, headlights and power windows work, interior clean. So far, so good. Replacing valve cover gasket, pinion seal. See what else pops up.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered the Magnaflow 14385 Camaro style muffler. 2 in 2 out. Now I'm wondering weather to replace my current mufflers with glass packs, then on to the Magnaflow, or just leave them out and go straight to the Magnaflow.

My 65 Riv has mufflers in place of the resonators, which sit too low causing them to scrape ocassionaly. What exhaust have others been using. Been thinking of Magnaflow under the trunk and leaving out the resonators. Pipes and mufflers are fairly new, but just don't work for me. I want a bit of muscle car rumble, but not obnoxious. Any ideas?

Thanks. Looks like an AC Delco 27f for a battery, and still haven't decided on antenna. Probably not the stock one though. Thanks for the input!

My antenna (non-power) on my 1965 Riviera is bent. I have removed it and am just wondering what replacement others have used. Seems to be several options. Maybe someone has found one that is a good fit. I don't have to have an original. Also battery seems a bit small, so thinking of replacing it, too. I have read that 27f is the size for a 65, so I can have the positive on the inside. Any good recommendations ? Thanks!

My 65 Riviera needs new weather stripping and rear window seals. Some window seals have metal inserts, some don't. Which way is better? Looking at some from Stock Interiors. Not a bad price, 15 yr warranty. Anybody use their stuff? Any others recommended? Does it really matter that much? lol. Thanks for any input.
