  6. Shown are two known sizes of Henry Ford's publication from the 1920's, titled "THE DEARBORN INDEPENDENT". The earlier versions carried the full title of "THE FORD INTERNATIONAL WEEKLY/ THE FORD INDEPENDENT". Written in along the bottom of the front cover was "CHRONICLE OF THE HIDDEN TRUTH". These were only available by Subscription. Apparently this publication was started in 1900, and it must have served "as an outlet" for Mr. Ford's philosophies and thoughts on the World and its ongoing events. It was not intended to be auto-related - save for maybe a picture or two in one of the articles. But these are wonderful to read if you are "history-oriented". They contain many articles describing life as it was "in the old days", and on "current events". I have a Total of 24 copies of The Ford Independent FOR SALE. There is an Oct. 16, 1920 copy; Fifteen (15) copies from 1924; Seven (7) 1925 copies; and a March 19, 1927 copy. Obviously many dates are missing as these were issued weekly for these years. The "large size" from 1920 to 1925 measures 16 1/2" x 11" and contains 16 pages, while the "smaller version" of 1927 is 11 3/4" x 8 1/2" with 34 pages. These came from a Barber who used these on a regular basis to entertain his waiting customers in his Michigan Barber Shop. All are in surprisingly Good Condition considering their use and age : with some having a few small tears along the edges; some discoloration of the front cover on a couple issues; and some spine wear on the 1927 issue. These 24 Issues are For Sale for $150.00, PLUS postage. The larger issues originally were folded 3 times for mailing. If you want these shipped flat, then add extra postage. Otherwise, will mail folded in half. Questions? Contact : blincoln at idalinc@windstream.net
