  1. I have the standard height version of that lift. Nice lift overall, only place I had an issue was with the pump motor assembly. The motor burned out. Mine only lasted about 3 years. I did not do a lot of lifts, maybe 20-30 a year. Replaced the pump motor with an SPX. Much more expensive motor/ pump so we'll see if it holds up any better.
  2. It seems that when there is a collection of rust the value goes up exponentially! Amazing prices is an understatement!
  3. Hi Skip, The way I understand it is you can register any unused plate in PA for antique. I am not sure you will be able to use the antique purple plate as they are registered forever therefore in use as far as PADOT is concerned, but I might be wrong. The original owner of the plate would have to transfer it to you. I have a purple on one of my cars and just assign it to another car if I buy one. A YOM plate that has an available number can be registered antique in PA exempting you from emissions and inspections but restricts you to daylight and non commuting miles with mileage restrictions which I would guess not being an issue on an 80 year old car :-) hope I did not make it more confusing. Chuck
  4. Thanks guys, I guess it's back to the chrome shop :-(
  5. I'm sure someone can help me here. I am slowly disassembling my 1931 Buick for painting. It has a 60's era quickie paint job over the original paint. Anyway, I am looking to get it painted the original color and as close to the original style as possible. My question is on the hood hold downs does anyone know what was painted and what was not in 1931. When the Earl Schive job was done they just painted everything. My guess is the handle/lock and the bottom base are natural or metal/brass and the center tube was body color. Any one out there know?
  6. I found an Automobileorama brochure currently on Ebay with a picture of the Kissel. Yours maybe? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=391017256083
  7. Ron, Follow this old thread for information on Zimmerman http://forums.aaca.org/showthread.php?t=133773
  8. Do you know what series car the radiator and other parts came off of? Thanks.
  9. SOLD...... These are off of my 1931 Buick. The tires tubes and liners are in very nice shape but I have no idea of the age of any of them. BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls. See the pics and ask any questions. The nubs are still on them. No checks or cracks. tubes all hold air and look good. I did not clean them so what you see is what you get. $400 obo for the 4 tires , 4 tubes and 4 liners. plus shipping if you cannot pick them up. I am in Pennsylvania near Carlisle. PM me if you are interested. SOLD......
  10. Thanks Mark, but what would the holes on either side be for? Any idea?
  11. Hey experts out there. I bought a chrome radiator shell and shutter assembly hoping I could use some of it for my 31 90 series but though the general shape is the same it is smaller and the mounting bracket on the bottom is different and there are holes on each side of the shell that take a grommet (one was still in one side). Size is 34" high and about 21" wide on top and 22" on the bottom. Anyone have an idea what it might fit? Might not even be a Buick but it looks like it is. Chuck
  12. Bill, I don't have anything for 1929 just for 1931. Chuck
  13. Steam gas, Yes I still have them. I've been crazy busy and have not finished sorting through them all yet. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll let you know if I have it. Chuck
  14. Hi Roj, Can you post a pic of your uncles car here for us to see? Also if you can snap a pic of the serial number on the car I would be happy to send you the documents I have on the car, no charge. iI you can do that, PM me with an address and I'll send it to you or your uncle. Chuck
  15. Thanks Hershey Region!!!!!! Thanks Hershey Industries!!! Great job!
  16. OK, for the experts on 1931 Buicks out there, the 90 series I bought last year has 3 different scripts on the hubcaps. Can you look at my pic and tell me if any of them are right? I'm pretty sure the first one is for 1932, but the other two are similar but obviously different. Sooo does anyone know which is correct for 1931 or maybe it's none of the above. Thanks for your help.
  17. Joel, on my 31 90 series I used a standard puller and strapped a couple heavy duty wire ties around the fingers and tightened the ties with the fingers resting on the small ridge of the hub. It popped a couple times, but it worked. Chuck
  18. I am lucky enough to live less than 20 miles away. It's a yearly tradition now. I love the Saturday morning drive in of all the show vehicles under their own power. And of course the swap meet and car corral earlier in the week are the best. 2 days vacation well spent.
  19. Congratulations Bob, looks like a cool car. Love that grill! Can't help you much on the shock question. My original ( I think) shocks are still on my car under a couple pounds of grease. They are on my list to redo this winter. Good luck and let us know how things progress.
  20. Pint, Sorry I don't have a drawing for your 33 but I do for my 31 and I need a new manifold. Do you know of someone who can cast a new one using the drawing? As far as the archives, contact them and the AACA library, they very well might be able to help you. I am going to donate my 31 drawings after I go through them and I've been in contact with both libraries. They are very helpful and will be able to tell you what they have.
  21. Well, I jumped back into bikes too. Back in the day I rebuilt/restored a wrecked Kawasaki KZ900 and an old Triumph. Just recently something came over me and I came home with this 1924 Douglas horizontal twin! it is going to need some work but it just called to me. Something about all the manual controls (6 levers on the bars and a shifter on the tank, exposed valves, manual pump gravity lubrication) and the look.
  22. I was going through more of the huge pile of documents I got with my car and came across a title for a 1931 Buick (not mine). Issued in Michigan in 1964 for engine#(I think) 2655361. Also the registration documents. I'm guessing an 80 or 90 series. The registration document says 4 door sedan. I am posting this on the off chance that the owner might see it assuming the car is still around (you never know!). If they do it might be of use to them to track it's history. If you are the owner it is yours, just PM me.
