  1. Bernie,

May I suggest to list your Renault on eBay, as I have found recently while selling off a number of cars and motorcycles that eBay was the ONLY advertising medium that generated both local (Australia) and international interest. All my items sold via eBay and i did have them listed on other sites. In my opinion, justcars, uniquecars etc is not worth the trouble to list.

  2. More Louis Renault independent thinking is shown in the valve timing diagram. In my humble opinion, the 25 degrees of valve overlap during the induction stroke is very forward thinking  for the late 1920s & especially for a side valve motor. For example a side valve Dodge 6 cyl of the mid to late 1930s The inlet valve did not start to open until 6 degrees AFTER tdc. The nearest comparison is probably a 1930 Austin 12-Six being very much the same, 1500cc side valve six cylinder, the inlet valve is just starting to open at tdc.

    Bj.

Bernie, so does this mean there is no need to regrind the cam for a more "sporty" profile?

  3. This was a regular practice for French manufacturers and also Italian ones. There was a reason behind it, but I don't know it.

It was a mark of prestige, you never see any Bugatti's or Delages with LHD. And by the way, driving on the right is the "wrong side". Back in the horse riding days, everybody rode on the left so as to be able to draw your sword with your right hand. Napoleon we have to blame for all this driving on the right nonsense, as he decreed that all persons will now ride on the right to help foster a less agreesive and more peaceful times.

  4. There are several sedans currently for sale on the HHFC website, but they need finishing.
Do these 135 sedans seem good value? I would really like to get a 135 or 145 sedan, however Franklins are basically non-existent in Australia and would require importing one.
  5. Is it my imagination, or are there fewer Franklins for sale now then there used to be? I watch the market fairly closely because I'm interested in buying another. So I search Ebay, this Forum, and do general searches. It seemed there were always five or six available on the club website, and one or two on Ebay.

I would agree, the market seems quiet.
