  1. Lol makes sense I just chalked it up to nature of the beast and rarely shifted from low to drive as it really is harsh..I believe this tranny was rebuilt but I have no history or paperwork on it.. Other then a few leaks it performs great..daily drive it and have to add about a pint every six months so I guess I can't complain to much.. The mounts are newish but every nut was completely loose as in not making contact.. Now everything is tight.. Helped some but far from enough.. I'll have to take a closer look see if something is cracked.. Also kinda harsh going into reverse but not to bad going into drive.
  2. I agree with everything said.. Any ideas what would cause my harsh shift while moving from low to drive.. Mounts are pretty new and tight... Didn't know holding it in low that long wouldn't seem to cause it any harm.. Might just cruise from light to light in low and not worry about shifting into drive
  3. Very true billron...I just cruise and rarely get in it more then half.. Don't need to
  4. I'd say performance wise it's a little slow off the line nothing bad or anything.. Once it hits about 15 then it goes just fine... In low it definitely takes off much much better but at least on mine it's very harsh shifting from low to drive.. Tried on and off the gas so I just don't do that.
  5. So I'm curious on another Buick group the dynaflow was being looked down upon etc as being just junk.. Besides the leaks. How many people have actually had drivability problems with there's and what were they..
  6. So how strong is the spring.. Love to address that leak but not if it's going to be a big big beach to get back in.. Living at an apartment sucks at times
  7. Well crap the manual just says unscrew cap replace seals and screw back on like it's nothing..I was afraid of that spring... Any chance this kit comes with that seal you're talking about https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F301424682287
  8. Not a trick or anything but a question.. Mine has a drip from the accumulator on the driver side.. I'd like to address the drip but my question is if I unscrew that cover what will come falling out and how much fluid will come out??
  9. I went through the same song and dance a few years ago on my 1980 Mercedes 450sel.. They were setting me up for 2k.. This was a very clean daily driver I had done a bunch to.. Said we'll check local listings for similar etc etc.. Yeah there were no local listings lol.. They then expanded it nationwide.. Yeah there were none.. So after drowning them in receipts even if they said the receipt was to old.. They agreed to my value which was hagerty's listed value on their site.. Got 8k for it.. Just some food for thought cause we all know they aren't going to find one.
  10. Just looked at that kit again.. Yeah every photo shows it using a rag joint.. It does show a u joint as included but I could never figure out why it was needed.. Maybe if converting from manual steering??
  11. I talked to him about a year ago on using the modern pump or my original he said he could do either with the kit.. But no he won't sale just the brackets I tried lol
  12. That conversion kit for the jeep box..I was under the impression it used a rag joint.. At least that's what they show it using installed in one of their pics..
  13. Man what a shame sorry to see this glad you're ok hopefully either you or them had insurance
  14. I've found a few holes in the "gurus" bible so I take with a grain of salt.. I've also noticed a trend when a new product comes out or a repo product..a lot of complaints that it's inferior and there's is the best... Makes me wonder
  15. I'm not so sure 160 is to cold as that's what the factory service manual calls for
  16. Running any different with the rebuilt rockers? Anymore running hot issues?
  17. Does anyone remember the part number some members had come up with for the rear coil springs on a 56 Buick special...
  18. Originally that 235 would have had a Rochester model B carb.. One barrel... If that's what's still on there you'll laugh at the simplicity.
  19. Funny even when I as in Colorado and it was 10 degrees out I got plenty of heat to the point I had to turn it down..160 between c and n unless super hot and running in and out then right at n.... I can vouch for the powergen love mine..I do have two rebuilt low mine gens you're welcome to for cost of shipping.. But that might be pricey due to weight
  20. I hate those scares lol but at least nothing major.. I'm sure you're aware and probably need it up there but don't forget to run antifreeze to keep everything clean
  21. Looks pretty good but how does she run lol
  22. I'm not sure which route you're thinking about going with the fan set up but my two cents is trash that clutch set up and just run stock with everything being set right now you shouldn't have any problems..I don't and we get much hotter here
  23. I know you mentioned the radiator shop said it was clogged up pretty good but were they able to able it for a reasonable price?
