  1. Great collection. This is a great forum for information. ps Welcome
  2. I have heard stories of a shoe tongue being used. I also think we have to remember we are talking about lower rpm engines than what we are using today.
  3. Great looking car. Glad it was warm enough to enjoy it.
  4. By all means yes. I need to learn how to do some interior parts.
  5. Believe I have seen these filters on Ebay(original style) Believe they are Fram. I would like to find a Wix as this is what my C8 has on it. As near as I can find Wix no longer makes them. Dale
  6. Doesn't matter, does it have a bud can for an overflow reservoir? A shifter that hits the rearview mirror when you hit 2nd gear? Doesn't matter. It's your car built as you prefer so just have fun!!
  7. We re you able to find the source for this rubber? As I too am looking to cover some boards. Thanks .
  8. Warm and safe Happy Thanksgiving to all
  9. Drive it & bring it back to life to suit you as time & $$ permit. I don't believe it's a overdrive car as the cable should be just to the left of the steering column. I did notice a few items I wish mine had:p
  10. Wow! Complete is worth a lot. I bought an Airstream C8 this spring, a nice driver not a show car. It has been fun and always draws attention wherever it goes. This looks like a great car to revive. That dash looks great from here, window garnish looks in good condition. These cars are relatively hard to find some parts for but that's part of their personality. I am not going to offer any pricing as I'm no expert but others here can help you if they so choose. Be glad to offer any help I can if you follow through on this. Good luck. Dale
  11. The leaves here in N.E. Missouri are at their peak of fall color. The wife got some neat shots as we took the Airstream for an afternoon leg stretcher.
  12. Having been transplanted here many years ago it's still Missouree to me, but I hear both. Any way from the N. E. part of the state.
  13. Thank you, I've seen those handles advertised somewhere. Maybe Andy Bernbaum?
  14. Finally a view of the Airstream-
  15. Did they make different speedometer clusters for these? Mine appears to be original but the speedo starts 0 at 12 o'clock 60 @ 6 o'clock. The rest looks identical.
  16. As an owner of a 36 Airstream I would have to agree with the already mentioned opinions on this car. In descent shape they are fun and draw a lot of attention but are fairly difficult to find parts for.
  17. 1st off thanks for the volumes of info posted by the members here!! I've been lurking here for a while & finally decided to join & hopefully can contribute some knowledge I may have experience with to some one needing a hand. This winter I got the bug to have a car to tinker with & after searching rods for a while decided that's not what I was after, some more searching & found what at this point has been a fun car 1936 Chrysler C8. Not a show car but so far a pretty dependable driver that still needs some TLC. Have to get some pics up soon. Thanks for a great site. Dale
