  1. I recently acquired a color slide of this pace car on the track taken during the Indy 500 event.
  2. Best of Show winner if I recall correctly.
  3. I often use searchtempest.com to do wide range searches of Craigslist listings.
  4. I find these almost exclusively on Ebay. I have several different searches set up to find new listings of specific content that I am interested in.
  5. Nice view of a 1941 Buick Special convertible steering wheel and dash. Picture circa 1941-1942. Image from my collection of classic car negatives and slides.
  6. I recently acquired a big WWII-era black and white negative lot that has some great pictures of one (or possibly two) 1941 Buick Special convertible(s). These pictures were taken some time in 1941 and 1942 near San Bernadino, Camp Roberts and/or Camp Haan, California. The reason I believe there might be two different cars is because two different license plates are shown on this/these car(s) and the color hues seem to be different in a couple of shots. Some images definitely show a black-colored Buick, but other pictures appear to show a lighter color hue car, maybe blue or even dark red. It's hard to tell from black and white images. Lighter hue (?) 1941 Buick Special convertible
  7. I recently had to increase my overall price for these kits due to increases in USPS rate increases. The 1966-1973 trunk mat kits are now $145 (shipping included) to USA addresses only. International shipping has become too expensive to ship directly to overseas customers. If you are located outside of the USA, you must have a USA-based shipper that I can send this kit to. Send me a private message if you have any questions or if you wish to order a kit.
  8. This would have been a good candidate for the " Rivieras and Riviera parts for sale on local Craigslist, eBay, etc" thread instead of a new thread on it's own. Maybe an admin can move it?
  9. Jeff Yardley has a jig made from square metal stock made for 66-70 upper control arms that goes between the arms to keep them from flexing in when new bushings are inserted. He let me borrow it and my auto shop used it when they installed my new bushings recently. Barely any arm bending was the result and new bushings installed! As long as your jig is made of thick enough material they should / might work.
  10. It'll be a big seller if you can get them mass produced. Going the China route or going to try to have them made in the USA?
  11. Barney, Is this the car you are referring to? https://killeen.craigslist.org/ctd/d/salado-1975-buick-riviera-2d-coupe/7574131705.html It's also listed in the Riviera's for sale thread on the current last page.
  12. Bring your car. It'll make the event so much more fun for you!
  13. Phenominal paint job. Looks great with those red-line tires!
  14. I saw this car online several years ago and I fell in love with those wheels on the car! The wheels (brand forgotten now) aren't made any more. Despite being a manual window car, this looks like a really nice Riv. I hope it goes to a good home.
  15. Someone posted the following on the 68-69 Riviera Facebook group a few days ago: "I purchased a Cardone remanufactured Power Brake booster (Delco) for my 69 Riv and it failed within a month. It's a piece of rubbish and not worth replacing under warranty. I've also learned that Brakebest and Wearever are 'house brands' who sell parts sourced from Cardone. Does anyone know where I can purchase a reliable new or remanufactured Power Brake Booster not made by Cardone?"
  16. Booster Dewey is no longer in business. I verified this last October when I was visiting Portland Oregon.
  17. One of my Buick club members sent me this clipping from the Wall Street Journal (July 28, 2020) that he recently received from one of his relatives. It's kind of a cool father-daughter bonding story!
  18. I ordered stock height springs from Coil Spring Specialties for my 68 Riv and I think the ride height is good on my car. I have not tested the ride height with anyone in the back seat tho so I can't speak to that.
  19. Merry Christmas from Nora and I to all of the other Riviera owners, enthusiasts and fanatics out there! May your holiday be bright and your time together with family and friends be merry. The Aqua Zephyr wanted to get in on the holiday greetings too!
  20. Is that bondo-type body filler in the rear quarter or a foam space filler? Either way, that looks like some real poor quality repair work! Good luck in your restoration! Just an FYI, you might want to pull the front and rear windshields off and check the window channels. One guy in the 68-69 Riviera FB group is having his 68 restored in Ohio. The builder pulled the windshields off and found the channels are very rusted out all around the circumference of the channels. This will require cutting out the rusted channels, creating new metal window channels, and welding them in place.
