  1. Pete, this may help you ,ist photo look at powertrain options, then id numbers near the bottom for the 2nd photo, looks like its a 364ci. but it is still not easy to decide from what is said here.-----you decide--.
  2. Actually for memory i had a temperature gauge on my 65 , between ignition and steering , mounted under dash, thought i also had a oil pressure gauge but must have remove that, before i sold it. and as Ed says, most new cars have tachometers, but my the latest Lexus NX 350 hybrid to view the tachometer you have change adaptive cruise control ,and some other item on dash to enable to see your revs .
  3. Going over some older Bugles, thought i would show these, as i was, California Capital Chapter, photographer Sacramento for a number of years. Go center page Buick Bugle for clearer photos. you may see your wonderful Buick.
  4. The tach in my 64 is the pressure in my right foot.
  5. Hello Ed , just incase you could do the opposite and show it---like this for sale on ebay item number 263351479654.----could be to big.
  6. This was bound to happen with one of our beloved Buicks---sooner or later, and now it has with our wonderful, terrific, great, 65 Riviera GS,----blame Bill Mitchell---. But wait dont blame Bill,------thank him.----.
  7. Many thanks --Em tee for moving that to Riviera,---i thought i would not be able to show there becanse its a 64 Electra.
  8. Hello--Ed,--Jim--Bill, i was messing around on computer came across this outlet with filters, probably a waste of time,--they are called , FMS Filters zip is 42092, they still show they have wix--42092 filters, $17.29, i actually went and nearly completed a purchase, right through until you make parment,---thats were i stopped , because i dont require any ---i dont own a 63,---so just doing this in case its for real , regards.
  9. Yes thank you John, as you can see my car is not a show example, but yes that would be a good idea, for others wanting a more professional look. the area of the bracket that touches the valve cover, before cutting is the rounded angled corner, raping all the way round. as you can see i did mine in a vice ,hack saw and drill, by hand.---.i should have mentioned also that you dont have to remove the compressor as it is held at the front bracket by 2 bolts, just had to loosen those bolts a little, before loosening the 2 bolts for the alternator releasing the tension of the fan belts at front.
  10. Had these alloy covers for about 12 years now, and every time i sighted them in storage, i thought i will fit them one day. So last week decided to fit these to my 1964 stock 401ci , started with the drivers side all easy and great, then started on passenger side ---not so easy--looked like probably was not going to fit,---never thought to check, first as apparently, when your car is stock standard with A/6 compressor fitted etc, one requires very hard to find or obtain is 425 GS bracket which allows for the about 1/4 inch extra height. so i decided to cut out 3 small sections about3/4 inch wide in the appropriate areas where the bracket meets cover, drilled out 3 of the holes extra 1/16 inch in rear of compressor, by fitting extra 1/4 inch bolt at top to inlet connection, then fitting 3/8 bolt to lower connection on exhaust manifold---all was perfect and is great. i realize they are from 1966 year and ,removing the steel from the bracket may have weekend the bracket, but being about 1/8 inch think after bolting all up , all good and strong.--may help others.
  11. Ed this may help you-----ebay no -----232438558405---
  12. Sorry Alex-----176080318630---messed up , a couple of numbers. but that is there correct name, . i have purchased alot of items from them.--regards.
  13. one mans garbage in New Jersey has some nice 65 riviera glass, about a week ago, probably gone now. go to item no 17608033630--its a 64 st400 tranny, then put in his see other items. He is honest and very trust worthy.
  14. Hi Rodney, if can not find a new one any where, ill give you a contact in USA, that may be possible. It is a dismantler, wreaker named ---J @ J Auto wreaking , in Marshallville Ohio , they are very good, and for often Buick parts, example right now have about 6 items for your 97 Riviera, and im sure they will obtain transponders for the same car . I purchased a 1964 Jack from them about 4 years ago, and they were excellent to deal with. have %100 feed back---.
  15. Hello EmTee, talking about valve cover tight , Skidplate i hope you dont mind me coming in on this, but last time i fitted a valve cover on a Buick was about 15 years ago, but when i owned Mercedes ,Alfa Romeo, Porsche and other makes and models ,nearly all recommended when fitting valve gaskets on, that you apply a suitable sealant to the under side of the actual valve cover, but not on the head, ,i would like to know here is this usually the way Buick members fit valve covers there cars today.
  16. A pro---three is fine, average painter perhaps four coats, reason a pro removes approx one coat, not so good painter removes approx two coats.-orange peal finish. and it depends on product used. Also about ceramic finishes mentioned by craig above, require 10 days harding after paint before applying.
  17. Dave, do as others have said----keep to same tires all round dont mess mix diffferent sizes. Now here is another way to help with your sagging rear suspension,, but sorry i have no photos, as on at least 2 Buicks a 65 Riviera and a 69 Electra i added a about 1/4 inch plate of steel under the rear coil on both of these about 25 years ago when i lived in Sacramento, sorry can not remember sizes exactly ,,---but it worked great thats why i did 2 Buicks the riviera first then about 2 years later the Electra convertible. 1/4 inch under the coil gives you about 3/4 inch at the bumper , ---may be of some help. and the car sits, rides, and drives like it it should.
  18. Approx----$5500 to$6000---if the body and chassis is ok, and it drives great. I realize i live in Australia, but i have lived in US for 10 years and purchased about 22 classics from US, about half sight unseen.---hope this helps.
  19. If you are getting a slight noise,,, do as others above say, then try adjusting the small tex bolt on rear, first turn it to clockwise about 1/4 of a turn, then a little more until you get a louder sound. Heres a photo of bolt ,top right corner,--- a good pair of pliars required to adjust if dont have correct wrench.
  20. Thank you Mathew thought it may be a compass or clock.
  21. i took these photos back 2017 CA swamp, so thought these photos would interest a few owners here, the more original 37, would a 37 expert tell me the item on steering wheel, what is it,---i can guess but not sure, this Buick had alot of extras, and was for sale. i was in a hurry and i did not spend much time looking at them ,as i only had a bout 2 hours there that day and members here will know how big that swamp-show is.----just found photos today.
