  1. I checked there thru their webstore. Didn't see any listed, but I'll try looking again or contact direct.
  2. Anyone know of a vendor for "Special" script for a 50 Special Deluxe Tourback Sedan? I was starting to think that my front qtrs. had been replaced with panels from a Super or Roadmaster as they feature holes for script to be installed just above the front side trim spear and all manuals/photos I have do not show script located on a Special. However, I just found this morning in "The Standard Catalog of Buick" that they did indeed have " 'Special' scripts on the front fenders just behind the wheel openings, above the tip of the side spear". So with that mystery solved...a source for the script?
  3. I've got a question...Yes, I have a bunch of the various service and parts manuals, however, the line drawings in each book are not for every vehicle year. How do the window glass run channels get held in place around the top and sides of the door? Do they just pressure fit into the channel in the door frame, or are their clips? A couple catalog sites, list clips, but as I said, I can't tell by the drawings in the manuals I've seen, if I need them, or if so, which is the correct clip? If possible, could some one maybe send me a pic of how their window frames are set-up, or even a pic. of a sketch on a napkin would do! I was the guy previously looking for lower sash channels. I decided to finally just make them. Once I get all the parts in, I'll try to post a pic of an original and the one I made. Thanks!! 1950 Special Deluxe Tourback Sedan
  4. 2 owners ago had the engine gone thru. Runs SUPER quiet. No leaks. I've got the air cleaner to be put back on. Thankfully I'm not looking at doing any mechanical or body work. Electrically I'm probably pretty good too. It's alot of re-mount work, lights, chrome, windows, moldings, weatherstripping, etc.
  5. Steele Rubber Products website lists the weatherstrip sets for a '50 41D. It doesn't appear that anyone sells a kit that covers all 4 doors complete. Seems like sets or pieces are sold for fronts and back doors separately.
  6. Mine's a 41D as well. Finally had a chance to check the ID Plate to see for sure. Based on your photos, and some un-restored door panels I have, I believe mine had a very similar, if not the same, original interior color combination. Now here's a question for you...Who sells the door weatherstripping? I've found a couple places that sell kits, but NOT for the 1950 40 series. Seems like they skipped over them; 40 series up thru 49 and then again with the 53s forward. Do you have to buy individual pieces only to make up what you need? I've also found that then 1950 Shop Manual's body sections to be pretty much useless when trying to figure out which window parts go where. The Master Parts Manual that covers 1950 is a little more helpful, but not by much. I need some line drawings!!
  7. Are you parting out a 50 Buick or have "extra parts"? I'm looking for replacement Grille Guards that hold the running lights/turn signals. I've got a couple of these, but they are pretty beat.
  8. Anyone out there parting out a 50 Special Tourback? If so, I need your front passenger window lower sash channel... I'll take the glass too, but have found sources for the glass, just not the channel that it sits in, with the triangular/trapezoid cam hooks or clips on them.
  9. Started to go thru my boxes and buckets o' parts last night. I've got quite a few duplicates on some items. Still no luck on the darn Front Passenger lower window sash though... I've found a couple places that sell the track part in bulk, cut to length, but wouldn't even know where to find the little triangular clips that I understand then screw to the cam on the regulator. Most of the salvage yards have the glass only or the regulators, but no other components. I'm hoping someone that's parting out a car might be able to help. I think I've also got extra grille teeth too. I'm pretty sure I'll need at least on replacement grille guard that accepts the running lamps/turn signals. I do however have about 6 of the running lamps themselves in various levels of completeness. Even found a hubcap for a 1922 Hupmobile. Any takers on that? LOL
  10. Sorry, One last one...What exactly is the difference between the Model 41 and 41D? I know the D was supposed to be for Deluxe, but what made it Deluxe? Was it having a Dynaflow vs. a manual tranny?
  11. Yay! Thanks guys! Now we're getting somewhere. I called out to Wheatbelt Buick. Very helpful. No sash channels...However, if I need regulators, which I very well may, gotta go thru the parts pile; I'll be calling them back very soon. I'll probably be tracking down one of those parts cross-reference books too. I wonder how come no one's ever put together a Buick site similar to the Chevy Old Car Manual Project. I know it'd take a TON of work, but finding info.'s got to be a little easier than it has been so far...
  12. Okay guys...A little help? I found that 10.685 is the Parts Group. Any retailers, catalog or online that sell window hardware. I've found glass everywhere, even in more than one color, but what about the hardware that makes the windows work? Somebody has had to have had the same issue...missing/broken regulator, cams, rollers, etc.? Thanks!
  13. Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum here. This past weekend I purchased a 1950 Buick Special Tourback Sedan. I still have to double check the ID plate if it's a 41 or 41D. However. Other than it mechanically, electrically, and body-wise being in excellent shape; it's a little bit of a basket case. LOTS of stuff to bolt back together. Prior owner stripped it and got it painted, and prior owner to him had engine rebuilt. I just need to re-attach chrome, put the already re-covered rear seat back in, and not a heck of a lot else. As we're inventorying parts however, I'm short a window; front passenger side. I have all other windows with the metal sash channels still attached at the bottom. I've been able to track glass houses down offering either original, NOS, or fresh cut. HOWEVER, I need the sash channel for the bottom of the window in order to remount it in the door! I found a Chevy body manual that lists a part# 10.685. I've ordered a Buick manual, but have been trying to hunt in the meantime until the Buick book shows up. Maybe it's a different part#, but it certainly looked the same. About 2' long, aluminum, with trapezoidal/triangular brackets screwed onto the bottom. Has anyone else been able to track replacements down? I may need more window components too, but I know this piece for sure!! Thanks for any and all help. I know I probably have some duplicate parts as well, so after it's put back together, I may try to list them here. Thanks!
