  1. There are some definite similarities to this Cameron. And remember.... the Cameron was air cooled, so there WAS no radiator, and therefore no protruding radiator cap to inconvenience grandma's perch.
  2. Very interesting info on the Liberty Light Car/Cameron connection. First I have heard of it! Thank you. Cameron did branch out to tractors and also aircraft engines. Not sure I have any info on marine engines yet. Thanks again!
  3. Yes, thank you, Craig. I have posted to that thread, and I am friends with Chad W., who was the original poster. You will find input from both of us on Cameron Cars on this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Cameron-Car-Company-700550563317393/
  4. Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the response, although it does not look as though Cameron Cars has been done justice by that Wikipedia page. They have overlooked New London, and West Haven, CT, Attica, Ohio and Michigan as locations where Camerons were manufactured, among others. When I get some time, perhaps I will go on that page and flesh it out a bit more. Thank you.
  5. Reviving this old thread in the hopes of finding any information on any Camerons, particularly any Camerons built in the 1907-1912 period. Thanks in advance.
  6. Automatic or manual transmission? Does the engine turn freely? If it is indeed an '87, it will have a manual convertible top. Later versions had an electrically-operated top.
  7. Yes, that is an E30 325i convertible, definitely not a Baur. That is an example of the first convertible actually built by BMW, starting in 1986. All previous BMW convertibles were actually done by independent coach builders, such as Baur, who were contracted by BMW. Baur conversions came with a full BMW factory warranty which covered the work done by Baur. I have both a 1982 E21 323i Baur (which I will never sell), and a 1989 325i convertible (like the one you have shown). Both have the famed, bulletproof BMW M20 inline six. There may be some interest in it as a parts car or possibly even a restoration, so you might try posting it. I write the Baurspotting blog, btw, which someone kindly mentioned earlier in this thread.
  8. I had the occasion to see Dick Shappy's Cameron this summer at the Klingberg Antique Motorcar Festival in New Britain, CT. Very interested in any info that anyone may have on the Cameron, particularly any Camerons that were built in Connecticut. Thanks in advance for any info! https://www.facebook.com/Cameron-Car-Company-700550563317393/
  9. I am trying to locate or get information on the 1910 Cameron Six that Roland Dunkelburger used to own. He told me that he sold it a few years ago, to 'someone in the Southwest, I think," but he has been unable to locate any paperwork or documentation on the sale. Does anyone have any information about this car? We think that it may be one of 100 Cameron Sixes that were built in my hometown of New London CT in 1909-10. It is possible that Chad's Cameron Six engine (above) may also be one of those built in New London. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  10. Chad W. of Oklahoma has a Cameron Six Air Cooled engine that was passed down to him through his family. It was discovered in the family barn years ago. Although it is not complete, he was able to set it up and demonstrate it at the local tractor and engine show in Shawnee, OK last week. He took video of the engine being manually operated, as well as a series of still pics. https://www.facebook.com/Cameron-Car-Company-700550563317393/ If anyone has any material, pictures, rumors of a Cameron Car in existence, etc. we welcome your input. You can post it to the page, or email it to me directly, and I will get it posted. tom82baur@gmail.com
  11. Chad (above) and I have made contact and started a Facebook page dedicated to the Cameron Car Company. This is a starting point, and we are actively seeking any information that anyone may be willing to share in regard to Cameron Cars. Chad just sent me some pics of his Cameron Air Cooled Six, which I have uploaded to the Facebook page. Please check them out! Any help in gathering info on Camerons is greatly appreciated! 12. Thank you, John. I was able to contact Chad.
  13. Thank you very much. I will try to contact him there.
