  1. Sorry George Wasn't at Hershey indeed I am located in the UK. I was looking for Distributor cap and Rotor arm for 1919 Essex 6A . Still chasing some spares that apparently should have been with the vehicle I recently acquired. Regards - Ron ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk
  2. Would you have any ignition parts for an Essex 6A 1919 ? Please see attachments Regards - Ron ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk
  3. Thanks for that Tom Just having issues with the ignition system, hence the cap, points, rotor arm. Also a Petrol cap 2. 2 " internal dia. would be great. Still need to find out more about the Essex. There were a couple of articles on the Essex doing the Peking / Paris rally in 2007. Two months round about July / Aug and possibly June July in the White Triangle news.in 2008. The Essex was number 12 and completed the rally. There is a brief You tube Vid. for a few seconds as the vehicle left China. I also have 1919 Briscoe 4 - 24, 1930 Rolls Royce, 1935 Bentley 3.5.plus a couple of 90's vehicles . Always happy to help locate any Brit spares if you require. Regards - Ron
  4. Hi Tom Thanks for reply. I am in UK. so can I email you ? ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk Regards - Ron

  6. Hi (is that you Kevin) - My Brisco 4 24 has Meyer updraft carb don't know much about it but looks very small. Not tried to start it yet - struggling with distributor. Have got compression and Starter now turning. Now playing with hood frame trying to increase head space over driver's head. Need any instruments only got fuel gauge. No linkage for Accelerator or Advance retard. Located here in UK. All best - RonPB
  7. Does anyone recognise the Bodywork on my 1919 Briscoe 4-24 which appears very similar to the 1922 Oldsmobile 'Hillbillie' vehicle? I believe bodies were imported from the States to Brockville after the body shop burnt down in 1918. Does anyone have a 10" contracting brake band complete with linkage for the left side of my 4--24 or suggest a possible replacement ? ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk Regards - Ron
  8. Does anybody know if the 1920 ish Briscoe 4- 24 4 seater body was imported from Oldsmobile after the fire at the Briscoe factory in 1918. I ask because the Beverly Hillbillies vehicle (I believe 1922 Oldsmobile) looks very similar to the Briscoe. - Ron
  9. Hi Yes I seem to have had problems sending pics. I have had to reduce the pixel size and I don't have Email at home so a quick resume: Yes this is the 4 24 that was apparently very incomplete but I have obtained quite a few bits and bobs and this Sept acquired the headlights and a dizzy cap which is on loan for the moment still could do with full set of points and I do need a left side Brake band and immediate linkage. There a long list of stuff to get including instruments and linkages to the steering column. The engine is now shaping up and I have good compression . The carb. ( Mayer) is a bit of a mystery to me and I have constructed a mushroom valve in the float chamber and have now to sort out pipe connections to the tank. The leather work is slowly coming back with treatment and the hood hoops are now back on after a lot of rebending. Bear in mind this motor has been in storage for nearly 50 years and I am having a battle with our DVLA to re register the vehicle. I will be back next week I am usually available on ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk and text 07899962866 is favourite. will try and send more pics. Regs Ron Bowden
  10. Hi Just check out attached pics Regs Ron B
  11. Have acquired this cap 2 5/8'' inside dia. to photogragh but still need one and preferably rotor am 1 1/4'' in length with 3/8'' hole dia. and points VBW Ron Bowden
  12. Try these - It is a Mayer carb, I have managed to replace the spring in the dizzy and cleaned the points however the rotating brown wheel has distorted oval and does not rotate so will try to restore it to round but obviously could do with replacement points complete. There is model 16 on the rotor arm. Regs - Ron Bowden
  13. Try these for now - Im struggling to get the other side brake band and linkage and the correct dizzy cap will get some pics of mayer ? carb inlet mushroom valve inlet. This site seems limited to pixel size can send pics more easily via my email ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk
  14. Hi Am just about to try and register the Briscoe with a 1919 number and am in the process of getting as much together as possible. I am still struggling with finding a correct distributer cap for the Telelec type 16 dizzy and am now trying to find a mushroom type valve for the bottom feed to the Mayer ? carb. Then I will need a contracting brake band and linkage for the left side rear brake and any instruments for the dashboard. If you have any items or info on anything I would be very grateful. I am hoping to travel down to our National Motor museum Autojumble at Beaulieu this weekend, but American spares are difficult as you can appreciate. If anyone over Stateside is looking for any Brit bits let me know. VBW Ron Bowden Mob 07899962866 for texts is good for me or email ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk
  15. Hi Aaron Just to let you know I am hoping to be active on the Briscoe soon. Wondered if you had any suitable replacement bits for the carb or distributor ? Cheers for now - RonPB ronpbowden@yahoo.co.uk

    briscoe parts

Hi ( Just an update request as below, I intend to start to start work on the Briscoe again this summer - any ignition, carb. or brake bands suitable would be appreciated ) I have a 1919 424 4door and am looking for a replacement distributor Tele elec mod 16, mine has no cap and only remains of electrical points. Also require rear left side brake band and connecting linkage. The updraught carb. has a dome nut arrangement missing under the float chamber and I have no ammeter or throttle linkage. Headlights are missing although I have traced a bell shaped headlamp cowl only so I know what I am looking for. If you have and distributor bits or a replacement I would like to get it running. Cheers - RonPB
  18. Hi Aaron and Bill, Thanks for info. The Mayer carburetor sounds interesting - mine has no name and is missing an apparently unusual nut arrangement under the float chamber. The float is a piece of cork and although it appears to be original, it looks a very small updraught affair . I will have to get a picture sorted and maybe someone can identify it. The rear left brake band and linkage is missing and not something I am familiar with. By the way I have a couple of prewar monsters about my person, a 35 Bentley 3.5 ltr and a 1930 20/25 RR. buried in my garage. I also have an MGBGT and a Morris Minor if anyone requires any assistance with old Brit bits. I only have sporadic access to email so dont be concerned if I go silent for awhile. Great to be in contact again VBW - Ron
  19. Hi all - hope you got my previous message - been in hospital due to heart job so not much done on Briscoe. Still need replacement dizzy for 'Tele elec' ( For the car not me) since no cap or points found yet and require left side brake band and linkage. Engine seems good with compression and now fit to run. Not intending doing much over Winter but looking forward to Spring. VBW. - Ron
  20. Afraid my dash is mostly incomplete - one of the future hunting projects VBW Ron
  21. Hi - haven't got many of the pieces together yet on mine so a pic. would be rather pointless at present but yours is looking good to me VBW RonB
  22. Hi Aaron Just checking you got my reply - yes this is the one that didnt sell because it appeared very incomplete but I had spotted the pile of parts hidden away and so took the gamble. Still need points , cap and preferably rotor arm for Tele Elec mod 16 1200 - F or equivalent distributor. Will have to find or make nearside contracting brake shoe and adjuster. VBW -Ron
  23. Hi Bud Thats great advice - will try Maxwell VBW Ron
  24. Hi Dave Really could do with replacement points, distributor cap and preferably rotor arm for Tele Elec mod 16 1200 - F ignitor or replacement Auto lite or Delco. will then need to sort out a decent carb Buick or Carter or find vital dome nut directly under float chamber of this unknown orphan brass updraft (NO NAME). Then need nearside contracting rear brake shoe with adjuster. My field of ameteur expertise encompasses pre war Bentley , Royce and post war Bentley, MGB and Morris Minor etc.( If I can be of help - parts etc.) VBW Ron
  25. Thanks for that Aaron - already a great help. Im teaching today but will spend more time and perhaps be of help to others in the forum with vehcles over here in the U.K. - parts, vetting etc. VBW - Ron
