Always buy a new vehicle by negotiating on the price and NOT by the monthly payment! If you need to make monthly payments, then look for the best interest rate!

Time to get a rile on…..going to hand paint it
63RedBrier replied to Jack Bennett's topic in General Discussion
TSC is my first stop for anything hardware/house/garage related. It's five miles, next is True Value, another few miles, then Lowe's about :30. The recurring item we buy at TSC is puppy food for large breed dogs. A few years ago I bought a multi-thousand piece nut/bolt/washer/screw assortment in Stainless Steel on-line. Great investment when you buy in bulk. All the hardware stores kill you on price when you only need one or two of something... -

Hi, Jack! I was just in TS and looked at the tractor paint. How about one of these: International Harvester Red? Massey Ferguson Gray? Oliver Green? or, Ford Blue? With black fenders and aprons, the darker IH Red or medium MF Gray would look great! You'll thank me one day... -

Please don’t paint it John Deere green! Especially with yellow wheels! Then it will just look like you were into tractors and wanted your truck to be a tractor! I would never consider buying vehicle painted in those colors! Go with dark green with black fenders… -
FS Not Mine Packard coupe 1935? PA $2500

It deserves a better fate… -
Last time I was out in LA on business before I retired, I spent and extra two days there to visit both The Mullin Collection and The Peterson Museum. If you have not been to either, hurry up and do so in the next few weeks for the Mullin. If you also go to the Peterson, spend the extra money for the Vault tour! Both are worth every penny... My condolences to the Mullin family and all their friends.

Hi, AJ! Are the tires too big? Too small? Or, should they just be black walls? Thanks! Greg -

If you haven't attended one of Ed's seminars it is worth your time! Ed is very laid back and approachable... I'll be there! I'm fairly tall white beard and hair, but I'm a young 57! My name is Greg. Please step up and introduce yourselves... -
$68k turnkey - $25k buy-in for this Cord = $43k Could one get it running, driving, and stopping for $43k (probably…) Now add in $200k+ for restoration costs in 2024 dollars. The seller may have had good intentions, but they missed the peak of the market by a few decades. This Cord would have been restored 20/30 years ago, but now unless it has some sentimental value to the next caretaker, it’s destined to languish for eternity…

1927 Studebaker Victoria, not mine.
63RedBrier replied to Xander Wildeisen's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Amazing it has survived so many years, but in its current condition, its fate will probably be a parts donor… -
I agree! I was just trying to flesh out some alternatives! Why not just indicate what row the vendor is in? I usually ask people I am trying to find at Hershey what pole number they are near, that always seemed easier to me than trying to focus in on number plates tacked to the pavement...
-
I have an idea to fix the empty spaces problem. Assign vendors to rows! When vendors arrive, they get the next (however many spaces they reserved) spaces in that row! Working from the center out will concentrate all the occupied spaces toward the center and leave the empty spaces on the far end. Why wouldn't this work? Steve?

I think you may be a closet Corvair lover, AJ! At least at heart…

I like that it looks like it has a slight top chop AND the overall curvature of the roofline! Will you keep it all black, Earl? Do you have the front bumper?

Project Thread: My 1929 135 Victoria Brougham
63RedBrier replied to Edwin The Kid's topic in Franklin
Congratulations, Edwin! I'm a 40+ year Corvair nut! Last summer I drove my '63 Greenbrier from central Virginia to the Wisconsin Dells for the Corvair convention, but I too am on the hunt for a Franklin! I don't think we met at the Trek, but I was there with my wife for our first experience. I'll be following along on your future posts! Good luck with the Franklin! Greg
