  6. The tubes I used had metal stems about one and a half inch long
  7. I just started to use motor cycle tubes with absolutely no problems. I use name brand tubes I.e. Michelin Conti Dunlop . They are also less expensive than the "antique" tubes.
  8. Hey guys Thank you for the feedback you have given me . It is quite a involved design ,maybe why the Bendix type starter drive design has won . I suspect it was a inter corp battle between Buick,Delco and GM. As far as my problem is concerned or was concerned it was the adjustment nuts for The shaft that controls the brush movement. It now works but I still need to fine tune that adjustment. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks again Frank
  9. I have a 1920 k45 6 cyl Buick with a problem that I have is engaging the starter. When pressing the Foot pedal it only goes down partially . It doesn't happen all the time but mainly on the first Start of the day . I can get it to engage the flywheel By putting the car in gear and push it a bit. Any Help would be appreciated . Frank
  10. What is the present status ? If still available can you send pics ?

  12. I have just put the top up for the first time since I bought the 1920 Buick Touring. I didnt see it prior either. Originally I was planning on replacing it . After looking it over I was surprised to see a top in great condition except for the black coating that is cracking and coming off where the top folds. My question what should I repaint the top with and whats the best way of removing the existing coating. I do have to replace the clear plastic panels on the side curtains Frank
  13. When I bought my 1920 Buick 6 cyl the carburetor was apart and I was sure that it was junk but I thought I would give it a go at rebuilding it. The cork float had to be replaced which was done and once assembled I followed the adjustment procedure thats in the AACA forum references. When I got to starting the engine I was surprised how well it ran . And it is still running well. I would definately rebuild the carb its quite simple Frank
  14. Dave Great camera, what kind and where do they sell them ? Frank Burns
