  2. Thanks, I will check it as soon as I remove the water pump. Today I can not say anything specific.
  3. Thank you. I have done the same work at my 1918 Hudson. I am not sure if the shaft is useable. The housing is broken. I hope to remove it nest week. Happy new year. Clemens
  4. I will remove the old water pump in the next few weeks and see what all is broken. I hope to be able to repair it. It is worth a try. I would be interested in what you can offer me. I can then better consider which way I want to go. Have a look at www.motorremise.de where you will find my personal contact details. The website is bilingual (German/English). Thanks for your help. Clemens
  5. I have 3 options: 1) I restore the old water pump. I can weld aluminum and we have a CNC milling machine. With it you can remake the broken shaft and weld it. 2) I make a new pump from brass and the shaft from stainless steel. This should be super durable but not look original. 3) I use a 6 volt water pump. I have this in stock. It looks very bad however. I just wanted to make sure with the request that the water pump is not still somewhere to buy as a spare part and I make myself a lot of work. Thanks for the tips, I hope to be back on the road in the spring. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
  6. Thank you, I will come back to all this information as soon I was able to remove the water pump.
  7. Thank you Mark, I will try it in a few weeks. Today I am working at the electric.
  8. I am looking for a water pump for my 1913/14 Cartercar Model 7. I believe the 192 Cid Northway engine was also installed in the Oakland Model 36. I have 2 questions: Is there any way to buy a good or reproduction water pump? How do you remove the water pump? Unfortunately there is no workshop manual from the Cartercar. Thanks for the answer in advance. Clemens Heddier www.motorremise.com Coesfeld, Germany
  9. Dear classic car enthusiast I am a classic car collector from Germany. I bought an antique car (1904 Eldredge) at an auction in Earlton, North Ontario. This has to be transported from Earlton to Montreal in the next days/weeks. I am looking for someone who can do this transport with an enclosed trailer or truck. The vehicle is the size of a golf cart and weighs approximately 1100 pounds. It is rollable but does not drive under its own power. Who can make me an offer for the transport or knows a contractor who can offer me this transport. Kind regards from Germany Clemens Heddier Pascherhook 34 48653 Coesfeld Deutschland 1903 Knox 1913 Cartercar 1914 Cadillac 1922 Detroit Electric 1931 Cadillac 370
  10. I am not sure if Leo Gephart owned this car. He seems to be a public car dealer. I think the pre-owner mast be a more "secret" person. The advertisement said This work of art has less then 10 miles on the complete, every nut and bolt restoration that was just finished. The restoration on the car took many years to complete by a true master restorer. This car is being offered for sale, for the estate of the previous owner who recently past away before he ever got a chance to drive and enjoy it. He owned the car for over 35 years and this first time this car has ever been offered to the public since. I am not sure if this happened with cars collected by Leo Gephart. I am owning a car from the same collector. But my car dealer do not know the history. Therefore I hope to get this information from other owners. The attached photo shows my car. It is a 1931 Cadillac 370A. Do you know if Gephart owned this car. Town Sedans are not the popular. There should be not so many in the market. Greetings from Germany Clemens
  11. Thank you but I know that this advertisement came from Classic Car Investment. But I am looking for the pre-owner of the car. The seller said: This work of art has less then 10 miles on the complete, every nut and bolt restoration that was just finished. The restoration on the car took many years to complete by a true master restorer. This car is being offered for sale, for the estate of the previous owner who recently past away before he ever got a chance to drive and enjoy it. He owned the car for over 35 years and this first time this car has ever been offered to the public since. My hope was that somebody knows more about this person. Do you have any idea about the collector.
  12. I am researching the history of the great Cadillacs from the 1930s. In this context, this ad was placed a few years ago. https://classiccars.com/listings/view/973840/1931-cadillac-370a-v12-convertible-coupe-for-sale-in-scottsdale-arizona-85260 There were several cars in the collection. Can anyone tell me what collection it was and who the collector was. It must have been an introverted person who owned vehicles for 35 years, restored them at great expense and then did not drive or display them. I am grateful for any tips also gladly by PM. 13. Meanwhile I found this picture of my 1931 Cadillac on the internet. The vehicle had the Washington license plate AHG7197. At this time it was probably already in Texas. There was also another Cadillac 370A Roadster with the license plate AHG7198. Can anyone tell me anything about the history of my vehicle.
  14. I am still looking for the history of my 1931 Cadillac 370A Town Sedan. The car was purchased by me in August from a classic car collector in Tyler/Texas and is now in Germany. The rare car has the engine number 1000858 and according to the title it was first in Helena/Montana before it moved with its owner to Tyler in Texas. Actually, someone should know the rare car, it has been very extensively restored. The car is in concour condition. Unfortunately, I cannot get any information from the previous owner about the history of my vehicle. I would like to keep the car for the long term, so I would appreciate any information. Where and when was the car restored? Who knows the previous owners? Who has seen the vehicle before? I am grateful for any information gladly also by PM or clheddier@heddier.com Thanks in advance Clemens

  16. I bought a Cadillac 370A Town Sedan in Texas/Tyler. The car is now in Germany and in very good condition. However, I need 2 parts: These are broken. 1) Latch handle for hood port doors 2)Bracket for the sun visor on the passenger side. I would be happy if you can give me an information where to find these parts. Many greetings from Germany. Clemens
  17. The car arrived at last Wednesday. The transport took a long time because there was no free container in Houston. I am currently checking all the functions before starting the engine. The statement with the carburetor worries me a little. The valve on the vacuum tank to the right carburetor was closed. If you open the valve, the fuel runs directly through the carburetor on the floor. The left side is okay. So far I haven't found time to take a closer look at the right carb. I hope it is just a gasket or a valve needle that is causing the problems. I will know more in about 2 weeks. I am still missing some small parts. I will start a second post soon. Maybe you can help with your great expirience.
  18. Hello dear Cadillac friends in the states, I bought this beautiful Cadillac in Texas/Tyler. The vehicle was very extensively restored 6 years ago according to the seller. Unfortunately the seller could not tell me anything about the history of the vehicle. I suspect that one is familiar with the car. Who can tell me something about the origin and he history. Maybe someone knows the restorer. I have some cars from your country and I am always looking for the history of my cars. Thanks for any answer also gladly by PM Clemens Heddier Coesfeld/Germany 1903 Knox Waterless 1914 Cadillac Landaulet Coupe 1922 Detroit Electric Dual Control 1931 Cadillac 370A Town
  19. Hi Gary, I´m owning a 1908 Schicht Highwheeler. The car is located in Germany. I bought it from a museum in the US. Please see http://www.motorremise.de/en/1908-schacht.html . Maybe the photos will give you a first impression about my car. But there are several parts which were modified. The seat for example. I am also owning a 24 page documentation of Schacht cars. But I am not able to attache it to this forum. The file size is too large. Please tell me your email address and I will send it to you. Kind regards from Germany. Clemens www.motorremise.de
  20. I´m seaching all available information about Voiturette Bertrand automobiles. I found such a car a few weeks ago in the centre of France. It is a very early Voiturette Bertrand Type C (Chassis# 54) with a De Dion Bouton single cylinder engine #993. It seems to be a 3.5 or 4.5 HP engine. The car is belt-driven with 2 forward and no rear gear. 3 Bertrand light car participated at the 1901 Grand Prix from Paris to Berlin. There are only few information available about this company today. All information says that t he company Voiturette Bertrand et Cie manufactured cars from 1901 to 1902 in Paris, Avenue Malakoff. During my historical research work I found a patent registration from Voiturette Bertrand from 1900. The company address at this date was „198 Boulevard Pereire“. If you compare this with the brass plate at my car you will find the same address. Therefore this car could change the history books about early French cars. It should be from 1900 or older. Could anybody bring light in the darkness about the history of my car and the company Voiture Bertrand generally? All information, especially old photos are welcome. Please see: http://www.motorremise.de/en/1900-bertrand-en/historical-research-en.html
