  1. Not for sale but this one was looking very good at ROA in Williamsburg
  2. This is photoshop express on an iPad
  3. As an example, here is one of my photos done up three different ways in Painnt in under 3 minutes
  4. Yes, they are all my cars and so I have all these photos I’ve taken of them - probably way too many of them - and now there are these new little apps for iPad and iPhone so I don’t have to use photoshop on a computer. It’s really kind of amazing what can quickly be done, compared to all the effort it took so many years ago, to produce an artsy rendition of Buick reality. The first several pictures are from a new iPad app called Painnt. Each picture was produced in less than a minute. Amazing and effortless!
  5. So, there are some interesting apps for messing with your Buick photos...
  6. Very nice. I have one with the same colors and options. I just hope it looks as good when we’re all done with it.
  7. We’re driving the convertible up from Tampa. Along the coast we’ll get our fill of oysters in Savanna and Charleston and on the return we'll go through the mountains to Asheville and Atlanta to visit grandkids
  8. Thanks. It’s a completely original, stock suspension. Not lowered, just sagging a bit, I suppose. Painted by my team working out of a local junk yard Ed, you know, I try never to just blend in. If a task can be made more difficult and the outcome more distinctive, I’m a sucker everytime. Glad you and others appreciate the extra effort.
  9. Howdy neighbor! I’m in north Tampa for the winter.
  10. Sure, I’m done it. But it’s not as much fun as having a horse in the race. Then again, sometimes you can pick one up at a good price.
  11. Barney did my antenna. He does superb work. It’ll out last all of us
  12. I am familiar with this approach and can recommend it. I was a member of an editorial panel for a book series on the psychology of terrorism after 9/11 with expert authors from around the world submitting their potential chapters. Writing styles varied, of course, and some were better than others. We accepted most, sent back some for further revision, but very few were completely rejected. It was an enjoyable process which distributed the workload rather nicely. We took plenty of time but did have self-imposed deadlines that were easy to meet. The editor-in-chief kept us organized, on-task and moving ahead. Money-making was not the goal and all participants were volunteers. The hard-bound books were eventually published and sold at cost mostly to academic libraries; I think we broke even. In this instance, I’d like to see an authoritative, Riviera-specific, reference that doubles as a nice photo-intensive coffee table book. And if not from the ROA, who? If not now, when?
  13. Similar story for second gen Rivs. Shorten the drive shaft and move the crossmember. I have a 200-4R with a 3:42 posi in my ‘69. It works very well with my Stage 1 455
  14. Chilly 40s tonight here in florida, but 70s again by the weekend. I don’t miss Illinois at all right now.
  15. A few years ago, whilst cruising in my ‘69, I inexplicably blew out my 3.07 (hot shrapnel caught the dry grass on fire on both sides of the highway). I replaced it with a 3.42. Very nice off the line but I missed my highway gear. So, I added a hardened 2004R from an ‘87 Buick Grand National. Now I have the best of both worlds; fast acceleration from a standstill, and only 2400 rpm in 4th gear at cruising speed.
  16. Scammers can easily steal photos and descriptions, spoof locations (just like all those calls we get) and have stock responses to inquiries. They are only after your money, often through a wire transfer. The clues are usually evident to the careful observer. That said, I have successfully acquired 4 Rivieras over recent years; 3 Gran Sports from eBay sight-unseen, another (a convertible) from Craigslist via a Facebook Riviera group. So, it can be done. Just be very careful out there. Ask questions, get additional info and photos, talk on the phone or at least text, to make sure a real person actually possesses the particular car offered. Then, watch out for undisclosed title issues, misleading photos, critical omissions, and the like. Good luck and happy hunting!
