Hey John & Bob, Sorry I feel like I have hijacked this thread..... didn't mean too, Bob I wish I could flip the manifold on my Stutz 8 cylinder as I am with you simple down draught would take so much of the guess work out of these UUR-2 carries and what they fit!!!! I have even toyed with the idea of making a new manifold with a twin setup on it, just so that I can get this car going? I do know it has been done but how successful I am not sure. John as for finding any numbers from this re-pop would be like finding a needle in etc..... It supposedly came from a 1930 Stutz roadster that was restored in Australia many years ago however I do know that my re-pop looked to be exactly the same as the one that a guy on eBay, whom was doing a lot of repo parts for Packard, I think his name was John, but this shop seems to have gone now as I get no return from my messages to him? What I mean by the same, is that he had quite a detailed article on his (Packard) web site with the UUR-2's he was restoring for Bugatti's (they were black) and I remember that there was a difference, he mentioned, with the UUR-2, but this UUR-2, my re-pop matched what he was using for the Bugatti's. Hello Jon, (Carb king) Well here we go.... I would like to obtain the large Venturies and a Float bowl cover for a (NEW) Stromberg UUR-2 re-pop, I have just purchased here in Australia. This is for my 1930 Stutz Model M 'Challenger' 8 Cylinder engine. Jon I already have a UU2, which I was hoping to use a number of parts from however with investigating through the web, I understand there will only be minimal I can use, the UU2 has suffered the demon muck metal disease so at this stage is sacrificial. Surprisingly it has an excellent Air Horn on it - NOT ONE CRACK or hairline fracture???? Can you offer me any kit(s) that will make this transformation easier? Tank you. Garry

That is one 'COOOL' car!!! I didn't know they could look so good! Now I really need to get those measurements, has anyone found anything, does anyone own this car?

Hello All, I have just posted a few pics in my gallery of my project, the 1930 M8 STUTZ 145" chassis (undergoing resto) that I would like to create a LOCKE & Co Custom Roadster body on, this is why I really need dimensions of some sort, as I do not have a body at all, only the cowl. Hi Willie, Thank you for your reply, would you possibly have detail in that book of yours, on Lincoln, the dimensions for the rear half of the body work ie length of (3rd) door length of rumble seat lid width of body i.e. rumble seat deck lid and roof panel cover? Willie thank you for the information on your Lincoln Locke body Roadster, as I am sure a lot will know here that Lincoln was another big buyer of the Locke body Roadster where they used the 3 door design with the disappearing top. Sorry to hear about your 29 Willie maybe this was the inspiration they needed (rear view mirror useless!!) to drop the top below the body line??? I will see if I can put in a pic of the 3 door design, as it was actually another 'door' (Usually on the passenger side) for you to get in and out of to the rumble seat also there was a deck lid that needed to be opened or lifted (hinged behind the roof cavity) up which was located in front of the rumble seat that often had windows in it and this remained up when the car was in motion therefore offering another windshield, not unlike a Phaeton would have, it is not a Golf club door that was on the drivers side!? In the picture below it is equipped with the solid option and not windowed. The picture in this thread by alsancle is possibly an earlier Locke body and it does not have the third door, as it has the usual steps on the fender but it does have a rather unique 'sweep' trim to it, giving it an 'Edwardian/veteran feel to the car. Yes that sounds right the 75 and 80 series seemed to have the 'Custom' bodies on them however again I can only go from what 'GOOGLE' tells me I appreciate you looking into for me, Cheers!!!

Thank you Restore32 I shall definitely keep that in mind. Do you remember if it was for the disappearing top model? as there seems to be both available from the Locke research I have done. I also tried contacting the Imperial club but so far no reply?? I do agree with you they are a handsome body that is why I need the help to maintain this shape and as I have 145 inches to play with I really want to get it right!! I could not go the big sedan look I am afraid. There is just to much out there to have a bit of fun with and to get the right mix, 1929, 30 and 31 was so 'out there' with some beautiful bodies being created.

Hello All, I would like to know if there is anyone out there that may be able to help me with measurements for a Locke & Company body the 3 door rumble seat type with disappearing top?? that was used on the Lincoln and Imperials of the late 20's early 30's era. I have a genuine Stutz cowl on a 1930 M8 series Stutz (145" wheelbase) frame but 'bodyless' and have decided that the Locke Body would look very good on this frame. Any assistance, leads, broken parts, replica items would be greatly appreciated even getting in touch with any one that may have one of these cars would be good just to discuss certain details. Thank you so much for the offer and if it had of been the 30's era cars I would have jumped at it, I do like all the Stutz autos but I am stuck in the early 30's with them and really am after a Lebaron / Rollston type coach work. Hello Juha, Seasons greetings from Australia, I may have the chance to get a car similar to this however the rear diff and engine is missing along with all the 4 x guards. I noticed this has non genuine front guard and no rear guards is this correct? Also is the front part of the chassis there mainly under front radiator? Any chance for more pics please Juha??
