  1. I stayed at an Airbnb in Rutherford, just north of 322, about 15 minutes drive from Hershey Park, on Friday night as my usual hotel (Sheraton) was already booked up over three months ago with a wedding and soccer tournament for that night. This was my first Airbnb experience. I paid $50 for the room, it was in a quiet area with one other room that was not rented the night I stayed, plus a long term tenant who was leaving for the weekend at home in Virginia when I arrived at 6 PM. I had the whole second floor of the townhouse to myself, I'm not sure how it would have been share one washroom if all three rooms were booked. Great host who I only saw when checking in, comfortable bed, large flat screen TV in room, free Wifi and work table. I'm considering booking Airbnb for my full stay next year. Bob
  2. Bill, Thank you for your rely, please understand I'm a bit frugal, and yes I'm a Rogers customer, and for many years I was an employee of this great company (BTW Go Jays Go), Yes, I can go to any fast food restaurant off the site for a short WiFi hookup, however why does the Hershey Region promote on their site FREE WiFi is available if it is not available? <http://www.hersheyaaca.org/fm_information.html> Looks like false advertising to me. Bob
  3. Are there any locations on the Hershey swap meet site that have free WiFi? If yes is a password required? I'm not willing to pay the roaming costs on my out of country phone just to do a couple of google searches while in the vendor areas. Bob
  4. My experience has been that if you do not arrive by 7 AM the handicap lot will be full. I usually park in the lot that is down the hill from the Milton Hershey school. The lot entrance is off of RT 39, then right onto Boathouse Rd, once past the lot attendants keep left to the far parking area. This lot is flat ashpalt/gravel (scooter friendly), it is across Hershey Park Drive from where the red and chocolate fields meet. Bob
  5. I have attached a link to some pictures that I took on Saturday at the show. As has been mentioned it rained for about fifteen minutes right at noon, so some cars were covered for protection. I hope you enjoy the limited number of photos that I took. https://www.flickr.com/photos/138945995@N07/albums/72157667942877051 Here are photo albums of pictures that I took at a few events I attended in 2015 as well as the ACD Museum that I visited last Thursday. https://www.flickr.com/photos/138945995@N07/albums/with/72157665769389893 Bob
  6. Thanks for the compliments, yes I’m a fairly patient person, sometimes it took a few minutes to get the right shot without too many people in it, however people at the show were great by not walking into my camera's field of view if they noticed I was trying to get a shot. I’m happy to share them, I hope they bring a smile or two to those holed up for the winter. Bob
  7. I'm a HUGE fan of Lenovo machines with the joystick, they're well built or at least were as my current machine is just coming up to it seventh birthday. I had been through three laptops from other top manufacturers in the previous five years. I use it for both work and play all day every day, which includes a fair bit of travel, so not having to pack a wireless mouse is a big plus. I’m still running Windows 7 and I’m happy with it. However I don't think you will find a Lenovo at Best Buy, they are into the computers for the masses not necessarily for those who have specific needs. Good luck on your quest. Bob
  8. Thank you all, I'm glad you liked my photos, they bring back a lot of pleasant memories for me as well. Special kudos to the Hershey organizers for putting on such a great event year after year. I'm looking forward to Hershey 2016. Bob
  9. I noticed a couple of mentions of Hershey in posts this past week, it got me to thinking that I had not even looked at the pictures I’d taken this year. With a couple of days away from work and weekend charity obligations, I had time to uploaded how I saw the 2015 event, mostly cars and not much else. I may be breaking some site etiquette by posting so late, but looking back put a smile on my face, so if it does for one more person on the forum it will be worth the effort. The photos are on flickr, there is a TV screen icon in the top right corner to show them as a slide show. 10. I checked out the Velocity Canada schedule on their website, I do not see the show listed. I do not watch a lot of TV, but this one of my favourite channels. I plan to email them to see if it will be added in the near future, If enough people write them it may help get it on, and give us north of the border something new to watch now that cruise season is over. Bob
  11. It would be a good practice for those posting items for sale to post that the item is now SOLD. Bob
  12. The deposit was $25, what was the final price for those who did receive them??? They do seem like a good idea, but with a limited market...........even with a moderately high price, I would purchase them just to keep everyone around me aware of where me and my Packard were headed. Bob
