  1. Here is as good as I can get it to come up:
  2. Image is very fuzzy, but the newest Chevrolet appears to be a 1940.
  3. It was Lester Lum (L.L.) 'Tex" Colbert who was the president of Chrysler Corporation at the time. Lester Lum Colbert - Wikipedia
  4. "Now, here we see a 4-door (sedan) with no frames around the windows but having a rigid "B" pillar. What do we want to call this?" Ford used the term "pillared hardtop" to describe their four door models with frameless, half-door construction but with a solid, stationary B-pillar. Essentially, this configuration was a hybrid body style that provide the openness of a B-pillarless four door hardtop with greater solidity of a four-door sedan. This first appeared as a model in the 1958 Lincoln and Continental Mark III line. It carried forward as the only four-door configuration for all 1961-'79 Lincoln Continental four door sedans. GM picked up the idea for its 1965 C-Body Olds 98, Buick Electra and Cadillac deVille and 60 Special. One advantage of a stationary B-pillar was the rear door glass could seal against it, did not have to move both up and forward to fill the gap as on a four-door hardtop. "Hardtop-Sedan" was also used to describe this type of four-door body style.

  7. For Sale: 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, 50K miles - $20,000 - Albuquerque, North Valley, NM 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado for sale by owner - Albuquerque, NM - craigslist Seller's Description: This unique car was owned by a deceased friend of mine. It was the love of his life. Due to advanced age (90yrs) and Covid, it sat in his garage for several years. I am trying to assist his heir, who resides out of state, in selling it. It is a beautiful all original car, was repainted at some point and is in great condition. It is in need of some TLC as it was idle for so long. It did start right up but the fuel was old, and it needs to be run etc. All electrical appears to function properly. There is one rust area in the trunk which can be seen in the photos. The pictures don’t do it justice- it is a real rare beauty! The owner is asking $20,000 or best offer. Call if you have any questions. odometer: 50450. This 1951 Kaiser is a survivor type that would be hard pressed to find one with as much character, and originality. Its Caribbean Coral exterior is rare in itself with a medium gray fabric interior. It includes bias play wide whites and a 6-cyl. flathead engine with HydraMatic transmission. To make it start easy, it has an electric fuel pump, but still has the 6-volt generator. This is a real discussion vehicle and gets some interesting attention at the local auto shows. Chrome is in gleaming condition. 9. Cars that have spent their whole life in the semi-arid Colorado climate can look this good. The relentless hot sunshine cooks the top surfaces and soft trim though this car appears to have been parked inside or shade a good share of the time. For the price, what else can one buy in a newer used car? Fuel mileage would be much less than a used Kia or Toyota, the trade-off depends upon how much one would drive it in a year.

  13. Just a hunch, but by the way this area details are blunt without fillets suggest it began life as a quarter-window town car, has had those quarter windows blanked out for a more formal look.
  14. My sentiments exactly!!! "The body is a Paris Henry Binder body." Henri Binder built some magnificent designs, but this isn't one of his exception efforts.
  15. I ran across a 1956 Dodge Texan sedan in a western New York junkyard thirty years ago. It was pretty rough, had been repainted solid blue even over the "Texan" emblems. Other than those emblems, nothing seemed different than standard '56 Dodge interior trim. After the 1955 La Femme experience, wonder why Dodge marketing thought this program would be a regional sales boon.
  16. I'd opine it was a paper weight developed by the dealership not only for their own use but also to be given to loyal customers as a token of appreciation for their business. Beyond individual private sales, multiple paper weights given to the business owners who bought fleets of Chevrolet vehicles. Recall the office workers in the pre-A/C days had only fans to keep the work environment bearable in summertime.
  17. It appears to be a Master Six Series 120, but Buick offered both a Deluxe Sedan Model 28-47S on 120" wb and a Brougham Sedan Model 28-51 on 128" wb of very similar styling. Both have the larger 274 ci OHV six-cylinder engine. Those interested in larger, quality late 1920's sedan would do well to investigate this Buick further. Its priced realistically for negotiation.

  23. I surmised it was the earlier imported Opel Rekords you likely hadn't encountered. There is a good reason for that: they weren't major sellers and once the rigors of road salt and the American penchant for flogging used cars into the ground, most early imports were toast by the mid-1960's. I wonder how this particular Opel survived.
  24. Neil: Thanks for the information that the Dante Red is correct engine color for this series Buick. I omitted the photos as I was unsure if they showed this car since those showing a black engine appear to have been taken outside in the same light as the other photos. The red paint appears to be a quick, haphazard job with overspray on surrounding components, Steve
