  1. I no longer belong to the Zephyr club.  As I live in the southern part of the US, they never have any shows down here, that I know of.  Most of the owner of our beloved cars live either in the northern or west coast of the US.  I wish it was otherwise.  The other issue is I like reading tech articles as my hobby is building old cars.  I saw a lot of beautiful cars but little in the way of restoring them.  I’ve given up on hotrodding cars because you basically throw everything away except the body and a few other parts.  It’s just sit down with a bunch of catalogs, order what you want, then wait for the UPS truck.

Do you (or others) be willing to pm the article you made note of?

    Much thanks and stay safe.

  2. I tried “zephyrparts” already.  He has several late thirties zephyrs.  Could make them from brass than chrome plate.  Cost was quite high.

zephyrdave, I chase the boat thing about five years ago.  Can’t  remember all the details but I did buy sever long pices of boat trim from a boat manufacture, only to find it had holes in the strips about ever twelve inches.  Could you give me a contact so I can try again?

  3. I built my 39 Packard and wanted artillery wheels but original 38 hub caps.  I did this as every  unknowing person at car shows would ask what kind of car it was.  Packard in 38 had Packard in bold letters on the caps. There is a company in California called Wheelsmith that sold me modern artillery wheels and converted my hubcaps to fit the wheels.

  4. That’s what we are here for.  All of us have questions on this beast of a motor.  I believe a number of guys on this forum know more about the v-12 than the Lincoln engineers who designed it.  Good luck.

  5. I’m not Abe but the pics of the oil pan are from my 38.  As to year of engine....who knows.  The somewhat 1/2 round hole on left side is for the oil float I believe.  Mine was crushed by the PO as it’s a little difficult to get the oil pan on while in car, and not get the float in the hole.  The more informed guys can tell you how to do it I sure.  I just made mine a dipstick by threading the red washer on the correct length sst rod

  6. Here’s a couple of pics of how I did mine.  Please be aware,  I’ve a lone wolf with no guidance from others as no one I know has worked on this kind of engine.  In other words...this is how I did it.  Right or wrong.

  7. I am very interested in seeing just how you swap out the dual coil pack.  You should have a 6 volt system with positive ground as original. Pictures would be great.  I not going to do it, but interested just the same.  Good luck.

  8. Yeah, it been 5 years and still waiting for right rear.  I don’t think I’ll ever see it.  Mmmm, the part I took pics of is your toe board.  I don’t have enough to prove it one way or the other either.  Hope Ken will post later and clear this up.

  9. Somewhere here are pics of the floor pans Paul Bradley sent me to replace ones in my ‘38 Zephyr coupe.  Also a pic of what’s left of the drivers front side.  As can be seen, the ones sent by Bradley aren’t even close to the orginials.  Does anyone know what they may fit?  Anyone else having problems with this guy?

  10. Cleaning up garage and taking inventory of parts for the ‘38 coupe that’s been up on stands for 5 years.  I’m thinking I may not have the tallent or funds to complete her.  Anyway, I purchased this part from somewhere and wrote “1938 left rear inner fender”” on it.  Looking at car, I can’t see where it could fit the ‘38.  Those anyone recognize this piece and know what it fits.  Thanks.
