  1. I am looking for the correct paint code for my 1939 Chevy dash. It is sort of beige/pink. This is not my dash. I am not sure if mine had the wood grain. Were there other colors? Mine has been stripped so I am not sure. If there is a code for the inside dash panel that would be appreciated. It seems to have a brown crackle finish. Thank you. Harmon Hodge

  3. I have been way out of touch on seeing a couple of the responses. Thank you. I will check on those to see about the colors. I will have more time to look into this when I retire this month. Thank you
  4. Thank you for the replies. I have been ou of pocket as of late. The car has been media blasted inside and out. I recall before them being a brownish color maybe the rose beige. Were all of them the same colors inside? I have seen some cars that were woodgrained but wasnt sure if that was factory or not. Should have taken photos. Thanks Ace...
  5. I found the answer to my second question. For the inner headlight housings, they are black. I would assume Dupont Duco Black 246-2048 or it's equivalent. I am still not sure about what brown to use on the dash, window frames or other colors they may have been just in case I decide to change colors. Thanks Ace...
  6. Hi. I am new to the AACA forums. I have been reading off and on for a while. My master 85 four door has the brown paint on the dash in the instrument cluster, clock bezel and wind garnish. I have the Duco paint chips but exterior, wheels, belt line. No interior. Does anyone have the colors and mix? Is there any special paint other than black for the inside headlights. The adjustable bucket that fits inside Thanks Ace...
  7. Thanks to you all for the information. The car in GA seems odd as it has been for sale for a while. Ace...
  8. None. It's been for sale a while so I wonder about the trunk and floor pans and what is missing from the engine compartment. When I called to check on seeing it, it wasn't running and owner suspected a short. May be a simple as a battery but who knows? Joey has a very nice car and like the color and interior. Will see how it goes.
  9. I came to this site because I wanted to become educated as best I could on the Riviera's. If I buy one, I will join this for sure. I did the same thing when I bought my Avalanche back in 04. The advice you wrote is invaluable for someone getting into this hobby. I have steered many friends and co workers away from "dream" basket cases unless you have a boat load of money, the time and skills. I tell them, buy a driver and enjoy it. Then you can address things as needed and keep driving. If it is a basket case it will sit as long as you have a job, kids, college and so on. I know for a fact because I have a 1939 Chevy I have had since 1975. I checked out Joey's car and it is very nice from the photos. Thanks for the link. Here is the car I was looking at. I haven't seen it in person and has been on Craig's List for a long time. If t is someone's on this site, that would be good to know. Also I hope I am not getting into trouble for placing this link here. If so, moderators, please delete. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/cto/3891549990.html Harmon aka Ace...

  11. Thanks Ed. I need all the help I can get on learning about the car. Harmon
  12. Hi, I am new to the forum and looking to buy a 1965 Riviera. I have found one and plan to look at it this week. The photo shows repaint and new upholstery (cloth but not an original pattern). Reads original engine (401). After reading the forum I see how to check the right front of the block and the vin to see if they match. Also printed off the option tag information to take with me. I notice this car doesnt have wood trim on the console (I think that was standard) and also no trim around the fenders. Was the aluminum fender trim standard or optional? I also notice on may '65's the fender trim runs along the raised edge of the body/doors connecting the front and rear fenders. The clamshells are open so I am assuming they don't work. Besides title, mileage, numbers, rust how it drives, is there anything I need to look out for and steer clear of? Thanks! Ace...
