  3. There is a guy in Canada that has a couple of Lombards, and he uses them to haul Cat Trains. kingofobsolete.ca He may be able to help also.
  4. I have used Terrill Machine, and their work is great. The owner loves Model T's, and drives them.

  6. Thanks again for the reply's. When it was apart I trued up the mounting bracket on the surface grinder, and made a bushing for the shaft, so I know that is square to the front of the engine. I was going to crown the upper pulley, but there just isn't enough material to do that. The owner of the car doesn't want to remove the lower pulley unless absolutely necessary. The next thing we're trying is a wider belt that will fit between upper pulley runners.
  7. Thank you for the reply. Trying to measure the crown in the drive pulley was very difficult, may have to pull the pulley off I guess.
  8. Was able to find a 6 bladed fan from a Farmall Model H tractor, much heavier but very well balanced. Runs smooth on the engine but I do not know much about a flat belt and when we rev the engine the belt runs into the front of the engine. If anybody has any good ideas on how to make the belt run true to the bottom pulley I would be interested in your suggestion.
  9. Thank you for the responses. The biggest problem I have is the size of the center of the fan, as it covers a greased bearing. There is not a lot of space to make an adapter.
  10. I believe a 1924 Stephens had a continental engine 6 cylinder. I need a cooling fan as you can see someone has butchered this fan up and I am afraid it is out of balance. I've tried matching them with tractor fans but was unsuccessful so any and all leads would be much appreciated. PM me or wyankee@hotmail.com

  13. For the threaded ring, is there any way to use a large rubber O ring to stop the rattle?
  14. Is there any way to use a smaller (circumference) pulley? That would speed up the water pump leaving the idle alone.
  15. I had a friend with the same type of fish eye problem. They replaced hoses, compressor, everything they could think of , and they would come back. I know this sounds crazy, but it turned out to be the deodorant he was using, contained silicon.
  16. I have a friend that has a file cabinet full of schematics for early tv's and radios. I don't know if they are still of any value or not, but hate to see them get tossed in a landfill. PM me if there is any interest.
  17. I had the same problem ,it ran too fast for me to control. I ended up using a piece of scrap flat stock to extend the arm that attaches to the pedal, that made it much more controllable. I found directions how through You Tube.
  18. On Youtube there is a program using these machines, and others from the late 1800's,into the early 1900's. Dave Richards Steam powered machine shop. Very interesting show to watch if interested in old , original machines.

  21. Interesting information about the model a cooling system. Go to rmaford.org at that site in right top is shop talk, hit that and read cooling seminar.
  22. Best bet, go to thesamba.com and look around and ask questions at that site. They can help you with anything you need to make an informed decision. They are quite simple cars, mostly affordable parts, and a lot of fun to drive.Good luck.
  23. Get some copper (I had some pieces of tubing laying around, split it, and flattened) back up the holes you are welding with the copper. The weld won't stick to the copper, and it takes a lot of the heat so the edges of the hole don't burn away.
  24. Check out KBS coatings, comparable to por15, but uv resistant.
