  1. Congrats on your find and for saving another 4 door! Terry
  2. The Metz is again listed in the local farming newspaper. For the first time a price is listed. $9000 firm. Contact info is the same. Terry
  3. Great photo and story! Terry
  4. Looks like a fantastic collection. Details on auction zip website under cabin fever auctioneers. Terry
  5. I think it's Hershey gardens / park from other photos I found. The family who had these photos had pictures of them at Hershey covering several generations. My wife and I have inherited the photos and much more. It has been fun digging through them. Terry
  6. My 37 Dodge truck had the door lock on the passenger side too for the safety reasons mentioned above. Terry
  7. These old cars were not yet antiques when this photo was taken at Hershey. Who knew it was a picture of things to come! Note parking in grass fields was popular even back in that day. Terry
  8. If it's any consolation my 2013 Dodge minivan doesn't like to run smooth at start up in hot weather. Acts like it's running too rich. Dealer can't find the problem as it gets better after a few minutes of running.
  9. Sure does look like a Nash! Thanks, John. Terry
  10. Can't seem to get a good match in identifying the auto in this picture. Looks somewhat like a Hupmobile, maybe a 1937, given the shape of the front fenders. Some features match and others don't. Any ideas? Terry
  11. Hood ornament looks different in photo than the 1942. Terry
  12. Another photo from a local estate find. Looks like this Buick might have done too much rockin and maybe a little rollin'. I think it's a 1947 model. Photo is not dated. Doesn't appear the car isa total loss. Terry
  13. Not mine!!! Found it in a local farming related weekly newspaper ad. It's been in this paper several times so I believe the owner is motivated to sell. Ad reads: 1915 Metz model 25 touring car. Had running. Good original condition. Will trade for nice original 730 John Deere diesel. Chester County PA. Ph 610-323-6959. Again, it's not mine and I have no connection to the seller. Just passing it along to anyone who might be interested in it. Terry
  14. Great collection of stuff! Wish I could be there.
  15. No designer would want his name associated with that contraption! Looks like a good inspiration for a carnival ride. Terry
  16. Sure looks like it John! The grill was the only good reference point and you nailed it. Thanks! Terry
  17. License plate is dated 1928. I can't seem to get a good ID on it. Maybe REO? Grill should be a clue but I can't seem to find a good match. Terry
  18. Here is a classic example of the legendary Ford vs Chevy battle. On this day it was clear the Ford finished "on top" ! I am happy to report there were no serious injuries in the outcome. The photos are dated Nov 1963. Terry
  19. Some assembly required for the Packard! Jag is really nice. Terry
  20. I am sorry to hear of your fathers diagnosis. I wish you and him well. It does seem that your car is most likely a parts car or a very ambitious restoration. If you sell it as a parts car think of how it will help someone else achieve their dream and how your car contributed to making it happen. Terry
  21. If the ads help keep the site running, then they are good. I don't find they detract from the overall enjoyment of the site. Terry
  22. These two drivers license cards from 1927 and 1928 show how Pennsylvania was attempting to keep track of drivers with poor driving habits. On the back of each license was listed a group of common driving errors and a method to show how often the driver was warned or convicted of the offense. Note these two are "clean" so this person must have been a good driver, or never got caught! No punches in his cards! I have other license cards from before and after these two years and none of them have this information printed on the back of them so I suppose this idea only lasted for the two years shown. Terry
  23. People were more adventuresome in that era! Auto trave was a challenge but those with some daring did what we might see as difficult or impossible today. I used stories like this as my inspiration to make long trips by motorcycle carrying just the most basic of necessities. I would sure like to know more about this adventure. Terry
  24. Yes, you can list them on this site. Pictures are a must to generate interest. Terry
