  1. The child's body found in the burned out garage was unfortunately identified as that of Ethan. Hopefully the law enforcement authorities in Idaho will soon find Hannah and this POS murderer.... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/10/authorities-warn-kidnapping-murder-suspect-may-have-homemade-explosives/?test=latestnews
  2. Does it run with a few wires chewed in half? Where is it located? Got any pics?
  3. It looks like a two door but I can't tell for sure. I saw it on Craigslist and am posting it here because it looks like a good car for a reasonable price.... 1958 Studebaker Champion
  4. There are a lot of really clean old classics in your area. I'm sure the nice weather helped to increase the number of cars that were there. Thanks for posting the pics....
  5. Here's some more info. It says that the child's body found at the burned out house with the mother may be that of 8 year old Ethan.... SAN DIEGO — The husband of a woman whose body was found in a burned house near the U.S.-Mexico border said Tuesday that he knew the man suspected of killing his wife and abducting one or both of their children. The disclosure came as a manhunt for James Lee DiMaggio, 40, expanded. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has said DiMaggio and the victim, 44-year-old Christina Anderson, had been in a close, platonic relationship. Brett Anderson said he knew DiMaggio "very well" but declined to answer further questions as he arrived from out of town to meet with investigators. He did confirm that he had fathered the two missing children – 16-year-old Hannah Anderson and 8-year-old Ethan Anderson. Brett Anderson said the couple was married but declined to elaborate further on their relationship. Christina Anderson's father, Christopher Saincome, said he had seen the suspect two or three times through his daughter and described him as a good friend of his son-in-law. Authorities found Christina Anderson's body on Sunday night in the rural home of DiMaggio in Boulevard, a remote hamlet 65 miles east of San Diego. They also found the remains of a child whose identity and cause of death were undetermined. It will take two or three days for DNA testing to identify the charred body, sheriff's Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told reporters Tuesday, according to U-T San Diego. "It is a possibility that the body found in the residence is that of Ethan," he said. Giannantonio didn't respond to a phone message from The Associated Press. <iframe name="adsonar_serve144480" id="adsonar_serve144480" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" width="300" height="250" src="http://ads.tw.adsonar.com/adserving/getAds.jsp?previousPlacementIds=&placementId=1523709&pid=2259768&ps=-1&zw=300&zh=250&ssl=false&url=http%3A//www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/06/amber-alert-james-lee-dimaggio-_n_3711084.html&v=5&dct=Amber%20Alert%3A%20James%20Lee%20Dimaggio%20Suspected%20Of%20Killing%20Woman%2C%20Abducting%20Her%20Children%20%28PHOTO%29&ref=http%3A//www.google.com/url%3Fsa%3Dt%26rct%3Dj%26q%3Dethan%2520anderson%2520james%2520dimaggio%26source%3Dnewssearch%26cd%3D1%26ved%3D0CCoQqQIoADAA%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.huffingtonpost.com%252F2013%252F08%252F06%252Famber-alert-james-lee-dimaggio-_n_3711084.html%26ei%3Dt6YBUoaHOIK68wSaroDADQ%26usg%3DAFQjCNEIwrTmZG-SXzxBtE5ynznaj3yguw%26sig2%3DYOWGMYvx3U3l_XWML6FVog%26bvm%3Dbv.50310824%2Cd.aWc&metakw=amber,alert%3A,james,lee,dimaggio,suspected,of,killing,woman,,abducting,her,children,(photo),crime" style="list-style-type: none; list-style-position: initial; list-style-image: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; "></iframe> An Amber Alert advised freeway motorists, television viewers and mobile phone subscribers about a blue Nissan Versa with California license plates that DiMaggio was believed to be driving. The California Highway Patrol said the suspect could be headed to Texas or Canada. The FBI joined the search and the Amber Alert was later extended to Mexico's Baja California state, which borders Boulevard. Monday marked the first time that mobile phone users were notified of a statewide Amber Alert in California through their phones, said CHP spokeswoman Jamie Coffee. The alert system, which was introduced in December, sends messages automatically, based on the phone's location, not the phone number. Authorities found the body of Christina Anderson near a dead dog when they extinguished flames at the home. The child's body was found later as they sifted through rubble. Christina Anderson grew up with her mother and stepfather in the east San Diego suburb of Santee, and she aspired to a career in child psychology, said her ex-husband, James Chatfield of La Grande, Ore. The marriage lasted four years, until 1992, and Chatfield said he lost touch. "She was a high school sweetheart," he said. "It was a marriage of convenience that just didn't work out." Chatfield said he helped Anderson's current husband move to The Dalles, Ore., in the early 1990s but they lost contact.
  6. I'm not sure what a "close platonic relationship" is but if this scumbag killed their mother and another child then these kids are in serious danger. If they cross into Mexico they'll have additional problems. Hopefully this situation will have a happy ending....
  7. Wrong forum and not enough info....
  8. They were abducted last Saturday? They could be thousands of miles from San Diego County by now. Did they know their abductor? Sometimes it's a stepfather or someone else they already knew. Hopefully they'll be found safe and unhurt....
  9. Lebowski is still around. Have you ever been to a Lebowskifest? If not you need to check one out. People show up looking like The Dude, Walter, Donny, Maude, The Jesus, and many others plus several people that were in the movie show up too. Good luck with your cars and your cross country move and keep in touch. By the way, Mr. Treehorn treats objects like women, man....
  10. Here's something you don't see every day. It's a set of 4 ORIGINAL Goodyear tires mounted on Pontiac Rallye II wheels which came on a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula when it was sold new 35 years ago. My brother purchased this car recently (which has 26K original miles on it-see pics) and they were included with the purchase. (The car was stored for many years covered and in a climate controlled building on blocks with the wheels/tires removed.) The car now has a set of snowflake wheels on it (off of a Trans Am) and Goodyear Radial T/A tires. The previous owner put the Rallye II wheels and tires on it last summer and DROVE it to the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton, Ohio where it won an award for originality. The tires are size GR70-15 Goodyear steel belted radials and still have well over half their tread-see photo of tread with dime. (I believe this size tire was also used on the Camaro and many other GM models.) The wheels are also in outstanding condition showing very little if any wear. These Rallye II wheels were used on several other years of Pontiacs-not just 1978. (Do your own research.) Also included are the original trim rings and center caps which are in similarly nice shape plus 20 chrome lug nuts. The price for everything is $999. Please call 502-767-7773 before 10 PM EDT. NO TEXTS! Thank you....
  11. I did a search on Google for "brecht borbein" and came up with this. There were more listings too. Good luck.... BORBEIN-St. Louis, Mlssouri-(1900,1904-1909}-ln 1899 H.F. Borbein & Company began manufacturing solid steel axles and artillery wood wheels at the corner of Ninth and Clark in St. Louis. In 1900, when his quarters became cramped there, Henry Borbein moved to Cass Avenue - and within a year was crowded again, but without sufficient capital to make another move. During 1900 he had built an electric runabout and caught the "automotive bug." Consequently, early in 1901, he joined forces with the Brecht Butcher's Supply Company, which had decided to establish an automotive sideline. Borbein served as manager of the Brecht Automobile Company from 1901 until October 1903 when he had the wherewithal to buyout Brecht, immediately changing the name of the product from Brecht to Borbein and announcing that he stood ready "to fill all outstanding orders." Like the latter-day Brechts, Borbeins were sold in diverse states of un*dress. Motors, tanks and connections were never supplied, but the rest varied according to model. Borbein's No. 26, for example, was a large 130-inch steel*framed touring car chassis "furnished ready for power with one coat of lead paint, with or without upholstering." No doubt Borbein's product was bought by both the backyard do-it-yourselfer and unimaginative entrepreneurs who wanted to get into manufacture the easy way. Precisely how long Borbein remained in business selling these quasi-kit cars is not known. Although he was pressed for receivership in August 1907, H.F. Borbein was still advertising late in 1909. Thereafter he continued in the automobile parts manufacturing field, selling out to his son Alfred Borbein in 1919.
  12. I had a '54 Capri that I sold a couple of months ago. The Hydramatic shifted well except for a loud clunk when going into third gear. I just drove it like that and it never got any worse so I never worried too much about it. Good luck on your search for someone who can rebuild it in your part of the country. Feel free to post some pics of it when you get a chance. Here's what mine looked like....
  13. Hagerty says #3 condition is $50,600 and #4 is $31,500.... Price Guide Report From Wikipedia.... The Montclair model line also included the Sun Valley, which featured a Plexiglas "bubble" over the front half of the roof section. While futuristic cars were often featured with clear glass tops in the 1950s, consumers rejected the tinted glass roof Sun Valleys (only 1,500 were produced in 1955) because of the heat buildup in the interior of the vehicles. Following lower sales of the Sun Valley for 1956, the version was discontinued for 1957.
