  1. My city has an ordinance forbidding the use of these. Probably because too many blow around in the wind.
  2. I’ve been using their acrylic urethane enamel and no issues. Can’t speak for the lacquer. They’ve been around for 30+ years.
  3. The horn doesn’t look original either.
  4. Thanks Roland. Those help a lot. They seem to have only a slight twist whereas I was thinking I needed more bend. This gives me a base to work from. Jay
  5. My rear tire carrier on my 25 DB Roadster took a hit at some point in its' life. As you can see in the assembled pic the lower brackets that mount to the gas tank cover are all bent out of shape. I started to work on them and they've been welded back together too. I can work with straightening and griding welds but my dilemma is getting the lower brackets bent in the proper configuration to allow the carrier to sit right and have the studs facing out. If anyone has some pics of the brackets and maybe some rough dimensions that would be a big help. Also the top arm is a little bent and twisted. I'm pretty sure this isn't correct but if someone can confirm that would also help. Thanks for any info. Jay
  6. When I dismantled an early 27 sedan there was webbing under the front fenders for the entire length and there were small pieces of webbing at each body mounting bolt.
  7. Why not go with an acrylic urethane enamel. You’ll get the 2 part durability without the super gloss of bccc
  8. Radiator cap looks like the flying 8 making it a 31
  9. I have a Boyce DeLuxe Motometer with an Albatross logo for sale. It is in nice driver quality shape and sits on a 2" dogbone cap with what look like 16 TPI threads. $250 I also have a Boyce Midget Motometer that sits on a 2 5/8" cap with what also look to be 16 TPI threads. $40
  10. Watch toward the end of this video and it shows how to pack the pump. The material is a graphite rope that Myers or Romar or any Model A supplier has. Doing it on the car is a little more challenging due to the lack of room but it can be done without removing the pump.
  11. Yes - Myers has it along with any other parts you might need for the rebuild. http://www.myersearlydodge.com/image.php?ws_page=cooling.php&ws_image=DSCN0689.JPG
  12. Repacking is easy. Loosen the caps on each end and put new pump sealing rope in then tighten up (but not too tight). If the problem is with the impeller it is more involved. And you may find that the shaft needs replacing. Thinking back it might not be a pin but the key that sheared.
  13. You might want to check the water pump. Mine was doing the same thing and when I took the water pump apart the impeller pin had sheared so it was spinning on the shaft. Ended up rebuilding the pump.
  14. Both the cowl and radiator webbing on my 31 96 are 3/4” wide and 1/8” thick as Bob noted.
  15. I may have found it. 1932 LaSalle seems to match with the big end wrap arounds.
  16. Sorry. I meant to include measurements. I don’t think it’s Buick as the ends wrap around for 5”. The bar is 4” and the overall length is 62”
  17. I have a bumper that I got with my 1931 Buick. I'm trying to determine what it is from so I can sell it. It appears to be 1932 but I haven't been able to pinpoint the vehicle it goes on. Anyone know? Thanks, Jay
  18. The rod to the heat riser comes off the Spark control rod at the base of the steering column.
  19. Here are some pics from my 1931 96. Let me know if you need others. Jay
  20. The issue with Paypal starting this year is you will receive a 1099 for all money received after $600. That means the “hobbiest” would need to keep records of what he paid for items, how much was for shipping and how much for fees so that he can declare profit to the IRS to pay taxes. How many of us who sell the occasional parts to subsidize our addiction want to do this? What about the parts you sell from a “lot” that you bought because you needed one part in it? Friends and family payments don’t get reported for 1099 but aren’t intended to be used for purchases. Pay by check or USPS money order. Sellers can wait for the check to clear before shipping.
  21. Yes. The engine is sold. Thanks!!
