  1. Hello everyone, As some of you will be aware, I was missing in action for the past few years, and due to this, my website has suffered too. It's been a difficult few years for me, going through a divorce, but fortunately it's all worked out good in the end. One of the functions I noticed that had failed on my website was the Guestbook. While I have been able to recover it for the most part, entries after 2016 have been sadly lost. I'd be very grateful, if you've made use of my website in some way, no matter how small, if you'd be so kind as to leave a comment in the Guestbook https://www.fordmodelt.net/guestbook/ Thank you in advance

  4. A few months ago, the starter motor burned out on my 1925 Ford Model T, so in this video I show you how to properly remove and replace the starter motor on your own Model T (1919-1927). Earlier Model T's did not come with a starter motor and relied solely on muscle power to start them! Enjoy the video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raHVePI4B7Y
  5. Stay tuned for my next video, coming up shortly, where I'm interviewed by none other than Peter G. Mozzone on his Cable TV show; 'Pete on the Street'. 7. On Wednesday 11th April, the Model T World Tour rolled in to Taree. I had the honour of Dirk and Trudy, and their support crew staying at my house during their visit. Prime7 News and NBN News both filmed interviews for their respective bulletins (which are featured in this video). Later, I treated the Model T crew to a delicious meal at Sailos Restaurant, and then it was on to Club Taree for Taree Historic Motor Club's monthly meeting, where Dirk presented a big-screen presentation about the Model T World Tour. The following morning, the team set off for Singleton, Sydney and beyond... Dirk and Trudy, it was a pleasure hosting you guys at our house, Thankyou so much for the beautiful gift for my wife Shae Have a safe journey and I hope to see you guys again in the future Please enjoy the video I put together... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ4XvU4tM5s

  10. Australia Day in the Model T with my wonderful wife Shae... Had fun "trying" to leave this event... During the morning, a father and his two children came up and had a look at the Model T. I turned the fuel on, and gave a demonstration of hand-crank starting the car. Around lunchtime, we decided to leave as the rain had started to set in, so I "turned the fuel on" and got the car started, no problems. We got as far as the exit, and at precisely that moment, the engine stopped, and would not restart! I spent the next half an hour, going through all the usual checks, including cleaning (and can you believe it, replacing) the spark plugs, checking all the wiring between the coils and the spark plugs, removed and cleaned the timer. At one point, while a group of 6 or 7 males had accumulated around my engine bay, Al Bryson in his wisdom, asks if I had checked the spark plug leads, and he promptly reaches out and takes a hold of one... little did he know, the ignition was still switched on, and rather abruptly defies gravity and lets go of the lead!! I also have a tinker with the carburetor, checking for fuel flow, opening the drain cock underneath too far and it drops clean off, so I have to hurriedly scramble underneath to recover it and screw it back in, meanwhile I lose about 2 or 3 litres of petrol! ... Finally Shae asks me if I had checked the fuel tap, which I *thought* I had... I finally turn the tap the *other* way, and switch on the fuel! (Of course Shae in her wisdom, knew this was the problem all along!) The car then starts perfectly.... I'm sure I will never live this one down!! 17. So I've read raving reviews of the Optima Red Top battery... My 1925 Ford Model T needed a new battery so I thought I'd try one out 6 volt, 800 CCA and 1000 CA - and apparently they're vibration resistant and will tolerate sitting idle for extended periods without losing charge.... we shall see... Here's the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a29gm9aZi7o ...Don't forget to check out the website if you haven't already http://www.fordmodelt.net/ ...And join us on Facebook, you're more than welcome https://www.facebook.com/groups/modeltford/ - Mitch.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaNgYhvmtzA As publicity stunts go, this 1911 ascent up all 1,344 meters of Britain's highest peak in a Ford Model T takes some beating - fancy taking a Prius for a spin on the moon? The idea was to show that this 'affordable' assembly line American car could more than match the hand-crafted British models (note the American flag at the end of the film). Interestingly, the film starts at the snowy summit and seems to capture the tricky descent rather than the climb. Behind the wheel was Henry Alexander Jr, the son of Scotland's first Ford dealer, and between the 9th and the 13th of May, with much planning, the steady ascent was made. Looking at the churning tyres and the odd spot of dynamite along the way the prevailing thought is perhaps "You did it!... But please don't do it again."
