  1. up for another round to see if anybody has any extras or knows of parts sources.
  2. I have had a few leads, and found a few smaller items. I have updated my list.
  3. All your posts are super helpful to those like me just starting out on our restoration projects. I do know I appreciate all the information you are capturing here for my own 1932 Dodge DL coupe. So, I thank you for keeping up this topic.
  4. I received a pile of splash shields/mystery panels (?) the attached photos with a shipment of parts supposed to be from a 1932 Dodge DL. I am trying to figure out where these panels would fit on my 1932 Dodge DL, and possibly what car they are really from, as not all look like they fit a 1932 Dodge. Perhaps some of you might have seen some of these on your cars and could help me? I'd like to at least eliminate the ones that I don't need.
  5. That would be the colour! I will have to see about finding a good colour sample that's also portable.
  6. Yes, I have looked there. This code isn't listed, so I am certain it's a Canadian specific colour.
  7. I am helping my brother try to find information for his 1938 Dodge D10 2-door touring sedan. He would like to know what the original colour was listed as, and if possible, what an equivalent available colour would be. The body tag lists the paint code as 1503, trim as AKJ. The original colour was a dark blue. It looks very close to Dodge Blue for US cars. The car was repainted with a slightly less dark blue, and it looks fine for now, but we are also wondering if these cars usually came with a pinstripe along the body. The only stainless trim on the side of the car is along the hood sides. What colour would the pinstribe be on a dark blue car? Thanks!
  8. Ah, you are correct on the ones in the first picture. Thanks! I think that the one shield in the third photo (lower left one) is for a 1932 Dodge. All the other ones, I am not sure about. My car is in pieces and I wasn't the one taking it apart, so if I can at least eliminate parts that don't belong, that would be awesome.
  9. I received the splash shields (?) in the attached photos with other parts supposed to be from a 1932 Dodge DL. I am trying to figure out where these would fit on my 1932 Dodge DL, and possibly what car they are really from, as not all look like they fit a 1932 Dodge. Perhaps some of you might have seen some of these on your cars and could help me?
  10. Wanted 1938 Dodge instrument panel parts in good usable condition: 1. Center chrome trim, including ash tray, radio delete plate, and winged emblem. 2. Switch and control panel for under center of dash, including all stitches, knobs, control cables, etc. 3. Wiper knob (mounts on wiper motor at headliner over windshield) The previous owner of my brother's car had removed these for whatever reason and they went missing between then and my brother purchasing it.

  12. Back from the bottom in hopes someone might have a lead on some of these parts.
  13. I am bringing this up from the bottom, I am still in need of the above parts.
  14. I'm still wondering what RHCT means. Right Hand C? T?
  15. I am wondering if anybody has an idea on the meaning of some abbreviations on my 1938 Chrysler Imperial Body tag. ------------------------------------ C19BC-1408 229-632 RHCT OD JOB No46-4 ------------------------------------- From this, I know the following: C19: Imperial BC: Business Coupe 1408: Body number 1408 229: Gyro Blue Poly Exterior Paint 632: ?? Interior trim (no idea what material or color this should be) (My parts book lists this only as "Pile" material) RHCT: ?? OD: optional overdrive transmission. Job No46-4: ?? Does anybody have a clue what RHCT might stand for? The car doesn't seem to have any unusual options, but I am assuming this stands for some sort of optional equipment installed at the factory, like the overdrive transmission. Does anybody know, or have a car with the 632 interior trim? I'd like to redo it in the proper pattern if possible.
  16. I must have missed this... I can take some pictures of mine. They look like little dished washers that are slightly barrel shaped held on with screws into the body.
  17. For your chassis, what are you planning on using for the powdercoat process? The reason I ask, a few shops around here do a phosphate wash, and at least one offers the option to use a zinc rich base layer powder (primer) and then a finish coat (according to their website). I'm a few years away from getting my chassis done though... How did the hood tops work for you?
  18. Those help me a little. I'm trying to figure out what's happening behind the open deck lid as well. The 3rd page of the manual in your post doesn't show that area. Perhaps someone that has a mostly complete car could take a photo of that area?
  19. What does this look like sitting on the radiator? Will it fit a 1932 Dodge? I am interested in one so I can keep my ram ornament safe away from thieves.
  20. Hi all, As I get further along with identifying what I'm missing on my 1938 Chrysler C19 Imperial convertible coupe, I noticed that I am missing a lot of parts from the rumble seat area. Would any of you that have 1937-38 Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge and Plymouths (even '39 Plymouths) have any photos, or be able to snap photos of a few parts for me? Let's start with an overall view (this is what I have): - Clearly, I'm missing the seat cushions. I have the one that goes on the deck lid, but not the bottom. I was going to make one, but I need photos of the bottom of it and how it attaches to those stands on the floor. Most people I've talked to don't have their seat bottoms out, and don't seem to want to take them out if they're installed. - I'm also missing whatever the side trim panels attach to (and the trim panels). I have no clue what those are supposed to look like. What are the side panels made from? - I don't have the toe board that mounts between the floor and the bracing behind the seat. I can probably make one if I knew what it's supposed to look like. - For flooring material, are these supposed to have a rubber mat, or carpeting? I'm also wondering how they kept the rain out of the trunk at the bottom of deck lid: On the photo above (looking between the open deck lid and the rear trunk deck), there's a tab that looks like something is missing from it. There's 3 or 4 such tabs along that panel. Is this for a trough? The side areas have troughs. Where do these troughs drain to? I have a pair of holes in the floor on the ones side below the left rear corner of the deck lid. Are there metal tubes or rubber hoses that go down there? Is there anything else that I might be missing? I have not had the opportunity to see a complete rumble seat coupe or convertible in this area to compare, so I'm hoping someone here could give me a hand. I realize that this is a bunch of questions, but I figure I would group all these on one thread and concentrate on this area of the car right now. I hope a few of you are able to help me... This is looking like a really huge project so far. Thanks! Rej
  21. Thanks for the updates. I really appreciate this thread and all the photos, and I don't care how long it gets. My DL has been previously taken apart, so many of the details I don't have (body mounting, etc) and I am looking forward to start on my project soon. This thread is helping me see what I'm missing, and how the car is supposed to be put together even though I am working with a coupe.
  22. I will try to check on the weekend if I have an extra radiator. I'm thinking that I don't, but I'll look anyhow.
  23. Those caps sounds like a good idea to keep crud out of the lubrication ports. I would consider adding some to my DL.
  24. I'll make a note of the waterpump rebuilder for my pump. I'm sure I need a pump rebuilt sometime soon. The modern seal sounds like a good idea to me. As for the instruments, it might be that they are gold. I'm sure you'll see a closer representation of the original color once you disassemble your gauges and look along the edge of the dials if there's a portion that hasn't been exposed to sunlight. I haven't found where my instruments are hiding yet (I hope I have some!).
  25. Thanks for the sidemount details. Now I know what I should be looking for when I dig through all these parts that have been collected over the years. There should also some other parts for attaching the wheel to the support. As for your upholstery, I vote the thinner, more original material. For the instruments, I have noticed that the instrument faces are currently a "gold", however, this gold was probably some other color originally before fading/yellowing to this current tint. The reason I mention this is that I've noticed the same/similar color on my 1938 Chrysler, and also on my 1965 Valiant (Dart instruments - it's a Canadian car). On the 1938 Chrysler, one gauge was replaced, and is showing a lighter color that is more silver than the other gauges which show gold, on the Valiant, one replace gauge shows silver vs the other's light gold, which leaves me to believe that perhaps all these gauges might have been some silvery or other lighter color vs the gold tint they currently are. The Valiant gauges look to be brushed aluminum that was clear coated, and the coating may have yellowed, but I haven't tried stripping any of my gauges to see. The 1938 Chrysler factory brochure (although hand illustrated) shows silver gauge faces. Anyhow, I just thought I would point this out to say that restoring the gauges faces is probably a bit more work than just matching the existing paint color.
