1. Thanks to whoever posted the pix from Barrett-Jackson; I'm printing out the pix of the engine compartment of the 67 and using it as a goal for mine; someday.
2. I read recently that Mr G made up a kit of fasteners for 1st gen Rivs , (thanx to some hard working enthusiasts!! ). My 67 needs a few misc screws, etc, and I wonder if I ordered that kit for the 1st gen Rivs, what % of the screws would fit the 67? Thanx in advance
3. Anyone have a muffler for the A/C compressor that will fit a 67 Riv?
4. Thanx Ed/ I read the info from Joe Gibbs. A lot more to engine oil than I thought
5. Thanx Mitch/ will give it a try
6. What are the pros and cons of adding this to gas? To oil? 67 Riv 430 runs a little rough but overall I'm satisfied- plenty of power- a little rattle from the valves when I punch it going uphill. Highest octane I can find is 93. Any advice?
7. Really!! Was about to buy some leather dye. Do you think I can dye it w/ leather dye? Thanx for the response
8. sorry for stupid question, but the pull strap on my 67 Riv (mounted on interior of door) IS leather, correct? Found one but wrong (fawn) color and need to dye it black.
9. Believe it or not the insulator, which looks like the one that keeps your beer/soda cold, is available from "Cars Inc" ( I think that's his name) in Neshanic Station NJ. He's big on Buick parts and advertises in the Buick monthly as well as Riviera Owners Assoc. thanx rocky 5517
10. thanx for the quick reply/ maybe it's time to look for a salvage yard in Arizona or somewhere dry. Rocky 5517
11. That's some great info! Thanks much. I never could have figured that out myself.
12. Thanx, Don. I think that may be the way to go.
13. My 67 Riv needs the muffler that quiets the compressor. Does anyone know what other cars that may be compatible with? It's a 430 Wildcat. Much Thanx
14. I need a muffler for the A/C system on my 67 Riv. Is that muffler common to any other cars? I was suprised Old Air in Ft Worth doesn't have it. thanx in advance
15. Does anyone have a good muffler for a 67 Riv? Old Air in Ft Worth doesn't. Can I run the A/C without the muffler till they fabricate one for me? Signed "Sweating in New Jersey"
16. Greetings all/ have done repairs to misc A/C controls, defroster door, etc. in my 67 Riv. In the process a lot of the old insulation fell out/ looked lousy anyway. Before I button it up, any suggestions on what to use re insulation? Is it necessary? Maybe local HVAC shops have some type of self-adhered material. Thanx guys
17. Mechanic says "condenser leaking badly. POA valve looks mangy, don't like the looks of the hoses. "Should I be prepared to buy all new major components? Aren't there 4 major components? It took about 2 weeks for the Freon to escape.Who's the best/ most reliable suppliers of these parts? Should I replace only what we think is bad, or go the whole 9 yards now?
18. Encl is a copy of the card they used when manufacturing my 67 Riv/ I guess it calls out options, paint code etc 0419_001 buick docs.pdf
19. I just went thru similiar problem with 67- luckily I had shop manual and a spare control head. One big hint- make sure that after you get the correct lines to the correct ports, DO NOT RE INSTALL THE RUBBER BLOCK UPSIDE DOWN. Trust me on this one.
20. Did you try "Cars Inc" in Neshanic Station NJ? He advertises in the monthly.
21. While trying to get the radio back into place I must have disturbed some vacuum lines and who knows what; I followed the manual and got the a/c going good, except now when I hit "recirculate" the air comes out of the floor vent (cold). I checked all the lines and can't see anything wrong. I think I need fan blower switch because I have to play with the lever, just a touch here and there, to get compressor engaged. Also, maybe my imagination, but thought I saw a wisp of smoke from around the rear of the switch; could not make it happen, and nothing felt hot. Any ideas?

23. Miracle!! You guys are good! I just followed your instructions and tried it with the key on "ON" and they seem to be ok. What happened? I fiddled with that relay but the connections seemed to be tight. I turned the engine on and all seems well; or is it??
24. All I dud was turn it off like I always do- noticed in the morning they were still in open position.(luckily- I guess). I was driving and playing with A/C controlss- everything seemed to be ok. The only thing I thought I noticed was there came a time when the dashboard lites got a little brighter- I was playing with the dimmer switch at one point.
